For instance, a workshop was organized in Samoa for the Cook Islands, Niue,Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu from 11 to 14 December 2001.

In light of the universalisation challenges noted in Cartagena and commitments made to overcome these challenges, the 10MSP President appointed His Royal Highness Prince Mired Raad Al-Hussein of Jordan to serve as the President's Special Envoy on the Universalisation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. Thanks to enhanced support provided by Norway through the Implementation Support Unit(ISU),Prince Mired visited the capitals of the Republic of Korea, Tonga and Tuvalu.

I wish here to highlight the co-sponsorship of countries that have not yet acceded, such as Papua New Guinea,the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Tonga and Tuvalu, as well as the declaration of Nepaland that of Turkey, reaffirming its intention to deposit its instrument of accession on the same date as Greece, which ratified nationally last March.
For example, APCICT has been implementing its ICT for development capacity-building programme called the Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders in five Pacific island States, namely the Cook Islands, Kiribati,Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community.
The President informed the Assembly that, pursuant to Assembly resolution 51/181 of 16 December 1996, States members of specialized agencies, which were not members of the United Nations, namely the Cook Islands, the Holy See, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue,Switzerland, Tonga and Tuvalu, had been invited to participate as observers in the debate in plenary meeting.
In its capacity as Article XIV Coordinator, Australia played a key role in facilitating the Article XIV Conference Special Representative's attendance of the Pacific Islands Forum meeting held in Port Moresby, in order to encourage those Forum members(the Marshall Islands, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea,the Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu) and observer(Timor-Leste) that have not yet ratified the Treaty to do so as soon as possible.
