In general, FiBL does not believe that there is a higher risk associated with building partnerships with Ukrainian organic producers than with those from other countries- but as in all countries appropriate and rigorous quality management measures are strongly recommended.

In projects"Organic Market Development in Ukraine"(2012- 2016) financed by the Swiss Confederation andthe UNEP project"Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood"(EaP GREEN), both Fibl and UNEP support organic sector and market development in the countries Ukraine, Moldova, and Armenia and elaborate commonly solutions with domestic partners to increase technical knowledge, reliability, transparency and product quality for the organic sector development.
According to the latest FiBL survey on organic agriculture worldwide, the organic farmland increased substantially, and the number of organic producers and organic retail sales also continued to grow, reaching another all-time high, as shown by the data from 181 countries(data as of the end 2017).
On April 21, 2016 a meeting at the premises of NAAU between the representatives of NAAU and partners of Swiss-Ukrainian project“Development of organic market in Ukraine”,which is being provided by the Research institute of organic agriculture(FIBL, Switzerland) took place Jiri Urban- the head of the Department of Plant Growing of Czech Republic State Inspectorate- Central Institute of supervision and inspection in agriculture(UKZUZ) and manager of the Swiss-Ukrainian project, Natalia Prokopchuk took part in the meeting.
To further enhance transparency, FiBL also supports the ongoing efforts by IFOAM and other international players to create an international and freely-accessible database of organic operators(including those from the Ukraine) with real time data on their certification status.
