The rights referred to in paragraph 1 shall expire 5 20 years after the publication of the press publication.

Member States shall ensure that where public or local authorities retain ownership or control of undertakings operating electronic communications networks and/or services,there is effective structural separation of the function responsible for granting the rights referred to in paragraph 1 from activities associated with ownership or control.
The rights referred to in paragraph 1 shall leave intact and shall in no way affect any rights provided for in Union law to authors and other rightholders in respect of the works and other subject-matter incorporated in a press publication.
If action by the Union should prove necessary to attain this objective and the Treaties have not provided the necessary powers, the European Parliament and the Council, acting in accordance with the ordinary legislative procedure,may adopt provisions with a view to facilitating the exercise of the rights referred to in paragraph 1.
The rights referred to in paragraph 1 of this article are exclusive in the sense that if the coastal State does not explore the continental shelf or exploit its natural resources, no one may undertake these activities, or make a claim to the continental shelf, without the express consent of the coastal State.
Member States shall ensure that where public or local authorities retain ownership or control of undertakings operating electronic communications networks and/or services,there is effective structural separation of the function responsible for granting the rights referred to in paragraph 1 from activities associated with ownership or control.
The rights referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article shall be exercised in conformity with the laws and regulations of the receiving State, subjectto the proviso, however, that the said laws and regulations must enable full effect to be given to the purposes for which the rights accorded Under this Article are intended.

Member States shall ensure that where the rights referred to in paragraph 1 have subsequently been licensed to another party, authors and performers may, at their request, receive from those third parties additional information if their first contractual counterpart does not hold all the information that would be necessary for the purposes of the information provision set out in paragraph 1.
