The use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
The Euratom treaty aims to promote the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons(NPT) states that there is an“inalienable right of all the Parties to the Treaty to develop research,production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.”.
WHEREAS the Community, its Member States and Ukraine are committed to ensuring that the research,development and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes are carried out in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Russia and Rwanda have signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
