Since 2010, the prize, which is awarded to talented and successful high school and university students,is named“Dositej” after Serbian reformer and illuminator Dositej Obradović.
Awarded from the Faculty of Music with fund"Dositej Obradović” for winning the prize at the Republic competition. He entered the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 2014. in the class of prof.
The work of the Foundation focuses on working with children and students, andthe intention is to bring the character and work of Dositej Obradović through various programs, competitions and competitions to the young.
Namely, the life of Dositej Obradović was largely marked by the fact that he spent some time of his life in a monastery, where, having become a monk,he was named Dositej.
The symmetrical composition was achieved with the expansion of the building, while the facades were enriched with secessionist decorations,as well as the reliefs of Vuk Stefanović Karadžić and Dositej Obradović above the main entrance.

At the banquet which was organized on the occasion of inauguration of the new Minister of Education, Mrs Mitra Mitrovic, Milovan Djilas's wife,he said:"I salute you as a person who came to the position which in this country belonged to St. Sava and Dositej Obradovic!".
However, historical circumstances, uprisings and struggle against Ottoman occupation were not favorable for science and education.Great School was opened by probably the best-educated Serb of his time- Dositej Obradović, who was the first modern Serbian educator, during which occasion he gave a speech on the importance of science.
Aesop's Fables, which Dositej printed in 1788 in Leipzig, are not mere translations from other languages, but a group of stories Dositej adapted to his own tone and view, accompanying each fable with an original didactic message, most often supported with examples from his own experience and education.
He was a pioneer in modern Serbian culture, creator of modern understanding of the world placing in its core accessibility to learning and knowledge for all children, boys andgirls equally. Dositej dedicated his fables to the Serbian youth.
But perhaps his greatest claim to notice is the fact that he was among the earliest intellectuals(Pavle Julinac, Jovan Rajić,Zaharije Orfelin, Dositej Obradović, Jovan Muškatirović) to call the attention of his people to the treasuries of their rich, ancient history and mythology, and to suggest the use of these in imaginative writing.
Similarly, the Assembly, for the umpteenth time, reiterates its position that the remains of the Serbian and world giant, Nikola Tesla, you do not deserve to be a museum piece but that they be decently buried in a suitable place near the Temple of Saint Sava,as Vuk and Dositej are buried in front of the Cathedral church in Belgrade.
He said that Serbia had an enormous potential to develop into a modern country and reminded that Dositej Obradović and Vuk Karadzić were in XIX century bringing the latest and most modern from Europe. However, another tradition acted as well, creating myths from epics, and politics from myths, such was the case with Kosovo said Mićunović.
