As I said in Poznan last week, and reiterated yesterday,I am stressing again the utmost need to capitalize more on the Regional Economic Area(REA).

Brnabic pointed out that the region needs a faster implementation of the Multi-Annual Action Plan for the Regional Economic Area of the Western Balkans, which was adopted at the Trieste Summit and which deals with trade, investment, mobility and digital connectivity.
In the implementation of the Regional Economic Area Action Plan, progress has been made in the field of mutual recognition of professional and academic qualifications, which will facilitate mobility, while the project for electronic document exchange will speed up customs and border procedures.
In order to ensure better coordination and faster implementation of the agreed measures for the establishment of the regional economic area, the WB6 CIF member chambers propose the establishment of ministries for regional cooperation in all economies of the Western Balkans.

I believe that the strengthening of economic cooperation,which is already the focus of our endeavours to create a regional economic area, and to help increase European investments in the region in particular, would be"a win-win situation" both for the WB6 and for EU investors.

He noted that in 2017, at the meeting of theBerlin process in Trieste, the action plan was agreed for the Regional economic area, but that two years after that, not sufficient things had happened to be moulded into the economic growth, more interactions and higher integrations.
