Na Međuvladinoj konferenciji Evropske unije i Republike Srbije, 10. decembra 2018. godine, zvanično je otvoreno Poglavlje 18‒ Statistika.Kovacs said that Serbia has so faropened 17 negotiation chapters and expects to open at least two more at the Intergovernmental Conference by the end of the year.

Odbor za evropske integracije je na sednici održanoj 15. januara 2020. godine, koja je bila zatvorena za javnost, razmotrio idao pozitivno mišljenje na Predlog pregovaračke pozicije Republike Srbije za Međuvladinu konferenciju o pristupanju Republike Srbije Evropskoj uniji za poglavlje 27„ Životna sredina i klimatske promene“.
