The zoo was managed by the Lahore Municipal Corporation from 1872 to 1923, when management was turned over to the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore. Management was transferred to the Livestock and Dairy Development department in 1962, and then to the Wildlife and Parks department in 1982.

In March 1927, Trivedi was confirmed as a deputy commissioner, and was posted to the Home Department of the Government of India as a deputy secretary in May 1932.[1] He was advanced to the rank of officiating joint secretary in April 1934 and in an officiating role, was appointed the chief secretary of the Central Provinces in October 1937. During the Second World War, Trivedi was promoted to additional secretary(war) with the central government in March 1942, and was promoted to full secretary that July.

In 1868, Seshadri Iyer was appointed Judicial Secretary in the Ashtagram division of the Mysore kingdom. He later served as Head Sheristadar of the Court of the Judicial Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Mysore, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Tumkur and District and Sessions Judge of Ashtagram division.

In late 1848, Karam Khan was killed whilst asleep, by his half-brother Fatteh Khan. His wife and children fled their ancestral village and sought refuge in the nearby Hazara region[dubious] where they met James Abbott, the then Deputy Commissioner of Hazara. Abbott in turn sent them to Nicholson, whom affected the restitution of the family to their estate and secured the education of Karam Khan's orphaned children.

After graduating, she joined IAS in 1952. Then in 1956, she was the Deputy Commissioner and was the first woman in India to be appointed to the post nationwide. She was awarded the British Council Scholarship at LSE on social services in developing countries, with special emphasis on health, education and society welfare schemes.

The peak of Mount Sakesar is at 5,010 feet(1,530 m) above sea level. It was once the summer headquarters of the Deputy Commissioners of three districts- Campbelpur(now Attock), Mianwali and Shahpur(now Sargodha). It is the only mountain in this part of the Punjab which receives snowfall in winter.

He first served in the Central Provinces as an assistant commissioner(officiating deputy commissioner from January 1924), and as the provincial director of industries and registrar of cooperative societies from November 1926; until then, he had served in the position in an officiating role from June 1925.

She was the first Bengali lady married in the United Provinces, her husband being the Pandit Jwala Prasada, M.A., Deputy Commissioner of Hardoi, and an officer in the Imperial Civil Services, grandfather of Late Kunwar Jitendra Prasada, a veteran Congress party Leader in 1903. She was the winner of the B. P. R. A. medal for Diana matches for schooling(1911 Meerut).

Joining the Indian Civil Service in 1922, Pillai initially served in the Central Provinces as an assistant commissioner and as an officiating deputy commissioner from March- November 1927.[4] During his career with the ICS, Pillai was appointed to various secretarial positions in the then United Provinces. He successively served as an assistant collector of customs at Chennai(December 1927- May 1929) and as deputy director of commercial intelligence at Kolkata(May 1929- March 1932).

In November 1960, Chalam was head hunted to join the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in the Union Government as the Deputy Agricultural Commissioner. In this capacity, he organised several seed production and training programmes in the country in collaboration with the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations. Chalam was one of the main draftsmen of the Seed Law for India which came to be known National Seed Act(1966).
