அவர்களுக்கு நாம் அநியாயம் செய்யவ் இல்லை; எனினும் அவர்கள் தமக்குத்தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள்.
We have never wronged them but they did habitually wrong themselves.

( யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனும், புகழுடையோனுமாகிய அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டார்கள் என்பதற்காக அன்றி வேறெதற்க் உம் அவர்களைப் பழி வாங்கவ் இல்லை.
They were vindictive towards them only because they had faith in Allah, the All-mighty and the All-laudable.

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
Evil is the case of those who deny Our signs and wrong themselves.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
Some of them believed in it and some held back from it. Hell will suffice as a blazing Fire.

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
Evil is the metaphor of the people who reject Our signs and wrong themselves.

( நபியே!) அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு எதிராக எவ்வாறு பொய் கூறிக் கொண்டார்கள் என்பதைப் பாரும்; ஆனால்( இறைவனுக்கு இணையானவை என்று அவர்கள் பொய்யாகக்) கற்பனை செய்ததெல்ல் ஆம்( அவர்களுக்கு உதவிடாது) மறைந்துவிடும்!
Look how they lie against themselves, and how that which they were forging has gone astray from them!

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
How evil an example[is that of] the people who denied Our signs and used to wrong themselves.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
Whereupon some of them believed, and others turned away.(Those who turn away), Hell suffices for a blaze.

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
Evil as an example are the folk who denied Our revelations, and were wont to wrong themselves.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது!
Then some of them believed in it, and some turned away from it; yet sufficient is Hell, the flaming Fire!

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
An evil likeness is the likeness of the people who cried lies to Our signs, and themselves were wronging.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
And some among them believed in it, and some among them were averse to it. And sufficient is Hell as a blaze.

நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யெனக் கூறிய மக்களின் உதாரணம் மிகவும் கெட்டதாகும்; அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே தீங்கிழைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.( 177).
An odious likeness(is the likeness) of the people who have cried lies to Our signs, and to themselves they were doing injustice….

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
Some of them believed, and some of them averted their faces from him: And enough is Hell for a burning fire.

( நபியே!) நாம் உமக்கு அவர்களுடைய வரலாற்றை உண்மையைக் கொண்டு அறிவிக்கிறோம்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் இளைஞர்கள்- தங்கள் இறைவன் மீது ஈமான் கொண்டார்கள்; இன்னும் நாம் அவர்களை நேர் வழியில் அதிகப்படுத்தினோம்.
We narrate unto you(O Muhammad SAW) their story with truth: Truly! They were young men who believed in their Lord(Allah), and We increased them in guidance.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது!
So some of them believed in it and some of them turned away from it; and sufficient is hell, a blazing fire!

மேக்ஸ்வெல்லின் பெற்றோர் தங்கள் முப்பது வயதில் ஏயே சந்தித்தபோது, திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள்; அவரது தாயார் கிட்டத்தட்ட 40 வயதில் பிறந்தார். அவர்கள் ஒரு முந்தைய குழந்தை இருந்தது, குழந்தை பருவத்தில் இறந்த எலிசபெத், ஒரு மகள்.
Maxwell's parents met and married when they were well into their thirties;[16] his mother was nearly 40 when he was born. They had had one earlier child, a daughter named Elizabeth, who died in infancy.

( அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;.( இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
There are some of them who believed in him(Prophet Muhammad), and some of them that bar from it, and Gehenna(Hell) is sufficient for a Blaze.

ஒரு கூட்டத்தாரை அவன் நேர் வழியிலாக்கினான்; இன்னொரு கூட்டதாருக்கு வழிகேடு உறுதியாகி விட்டது ஏனெனில் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வை விட்டு ஷைத்தான்களை பாதுகாவலர்களாக்கிக் கொண்டார்கள்- எனினும் தாங்கள் நேர்வழி பெற்றவர்கள் என்று எண்ணுகிறார்கள்.
A part has He guided aright and(as for another) part, error is justly their due, surely they took the Shaitans for guardians beside Allah, and they think that they are followers of the right.

ஆனால் அக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் தம்மிடம் கூறப்பட்ட வார்த்தையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்படாத வேறு வார்த்தையாக மாற்றிக் கொண்டார்கள்; ஆகவே அக்கிரமங்கள் செய்தவர்கள் மீது-( இவ்வாறு அவர்கள்) பாபம் செய்து கொண்ட் இருந்த காரணத்தினால் வானத்த் இலிருந்து நாம் வேதனையை இறக்கிவைத்தோம்.
But the wrongdoers changed the saying with other than what they were told. So We sent down on those who were wrongdoers a plague from the sky because of the transgressions they used to commit.

இவ்வாறிருந்தும் அவர்கள் ஜின்களை அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணையானவர்கள் ஆக ஆக்குகிறார்கள்; அல்லாஹ்வே அந்த ஜின்களைய் உம் படைத்தான்; இருந்தும் அறிவில்லாத காரணத்தால் இணைவைப்போர் அவனுக்குப் புதல்வர்களைய் உம், புதல்விகளைய் உம் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்டார்கள்- அவனோ இவர்கள் இவ்வாறு வர்ணிப்பத் இலிருந்து தூயவன் ஆகவ் உம்.
But they have attributed to Allah partners- the jinn, while He has created them- and have fabricated for Him sons and daughters. Exalted is He and high above what they describe.

( ஏனென்றால்) அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய மார்க்கத்தை வீண் ஆகவ் உம், விளையாட்ட் ஆகவ் உம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்; இன்னும் அவர்களை இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை மயக்கி விட்டது எனவே அவர்கள் நம் வசனங்களை நிராகரித்து இந்த இறுதி நாளின் சந்திப்பை மறந்து விட்டது போன்று, இன்று நாம் அவர்களை மறந்து விடுகிறோம்.
Who took their religion for a sport and pastime, and whom the life of the world beguiled. So this day We have forgotten them even as they forgot the meeting of this their Day and as they used to deny Our tokens.

எங்கள் matriarchs இன்றைய மேற்கு பெண்கள் மீது ஒரு சுவாரஸ்யமான அனுகூலம் பெற்றிருந்தனர். Matriarchs காதல் தங்கள் திருமணம் நிகழவ் இல்லை. மாறாக, அவர்கள் காதல் செய்வது எப்படி கற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள். அவர்கள் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் தங்கள் திருமணம் தாங்கும் என்ற காதல் வளர ஒரு அக்கறையுடனான தீர்மானத்துடன் திருமணம் நுழைந்தது.”.
Our matriarchs had an interesting advantage over today's western women. Matriarchs didn't begin their marriage with love. Instead, they were taught how to love. They entered marriage with an earnest determination to grow a love that would sustain their marriage for a lifetime.”.

அவர்களுக்கு நாம் அநியாயம் செய்யவ் இல்லை; எனினும் அவர்கள் தமக்குத்தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள். உம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து கட்டளை வந்த போது, அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் அழைத்துக் கொண்ட் இருந்த அவர்களின் தெய்வங்கள் எதுவும் அவர்களுக்கு எவ்விதப்பலனும் அளிக்கவ் இல்லை; மேலும் அவை அவர்களுக்கு நஷ்டத்தை தவிர( வேறெதையும்) அதிகரிக்கச் செய்யவ் இல்லை.
And We did not oppress them at all, but it is they who wronged themselves- therefore their deities, whom they worshipped other than Allah, did not in the least benefit them when your Lord's command came; and due to them, they increased nothing but ruin.

தவிர வேதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டோர் இடம் அவர்கள் அதை மக்களுக்குத் தெளிவாக எடுத்துரைக்க வேண்டும், அதை மறைக்கக் கூடாது என்று அல்லாஹ் உறுதி மொழி வாங்கியதை( அம்மக்களுக்கு நபியே! நீர் நினைவுபடுத்துவீராக). அப்பால், அவர்கள் அதைத் தங்கள் முதுகுகளுக்குப் பின்னால் எறிந்து விட்டு; அதற்குப்( பதிலாகச்) சொற்ப கிரயத்தைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள்- அவர்கள்( இவ்வாறு) வாங்கிக் கொண்டது மிகக் கெட்டதாகும்!
And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!
