Dr. Hymers' note: this passage could not be speaking of Christmas trees for two reasons(1) there was no Christmas and no Christmas trees in Jeremiah's day(2) no one today worships a Christmas tree.
(Matthew 24:45) Have you ever heard something at a Christian meeting- in a comment, in a talk, or even in a prayer- that provided just the needed strength and encouragement?
Hence the two are the same.(e) Dispensationalist commentators themselves find no trouble in identifying the two(Kent 1972, 272; Newell 1947, 426; Pentecost 1958, 579; Walvoord 1959, 326).
Exemption from fasting is granted to those who are ill or of advanced age(see note 14), women in their courses(see note 20), travellers(see note 30) and to women who are pregnant and those who are nursing.
Through this Bible and the writings of Puritans(e.g. William Perkins' commentary on Galatians, and various books by Hugh Broughton) the doctrine of the conversion of the Jewish people was widely diffused in England, Scotland, and New England.
