At the moment, most of them are"framed" by formal international agreements or conventions and often are properly constituted legal entities based on public or private law.
In such instances the Secretary-General shall perform all the duties of a depositary of a treaty andshall also ensure that the dates of entry into force of such agreements or conventions are published in the Official Journal.
The acceding States referred to in Article 1 shall be required to accede to the following agreements or conventions concluded before their respective accessions, insofar as such agreements or conventions are still in force.
The new Member States accede by this Act andunder the conditions laid down therein to the internal agreements concluded by the original Member States for the purpose of implementing the agreements or conventions referred to in paragraph 2.
The Union shall respect all the commit ments of the European Communities,in particular the agreements or conventions concluded with oneor more nonmember States or with an international organization.
This Decision shall not affect Member States' rights and obligations deriving from existing or future bilateral or multilateral agreements or conventions in the field covered by this Decision.
The agreements or conventions concluded by any of the Communities, with one or more third States, with an international organization or with a national of a third State, shall, under the conditions laid down in the original Treaties and in this Act, be binding on the new Member States.
The new Member States accede by this Act andunder the conditions laid down therein to the internal agreements concluded by the present Member States for the purpose of implementing the agreements or conventions referred to in paragraphs 2 and 4 to 6.
The Hellenic Republic undertakes to accede, under the conditions laid down in this Act, to agreements or conventions concluded by the present Member States and any of the Communities, acting jointly, andto agreements concluded by the present Member States which are related to those agreements or conventions.
In the event of the Secretary-General of the Council being des ignated as depositary of an agreement concluded between the Community and one or more States or international organisa tions, of a convention concluded between Member States or of a convention drawn up pursuant to Article K.3 of the Treaty on European Union, the acts of ratification,acceptance or approval of those agreements or conventions shall be de posited at the address of the Council.
This Decision does not affect the reciprocal rights andobligations of the Member States resulting from bilateral or multilateral agreements or Conventions existing or to be concluded in the field covered by this Decision and in accordance with its object and purpose.
The agreements or conventions concluded or provisionally applied by the Communityor in accordance with Article 24 or Article 38 of the EU Treaty, with one or more third States, with an international organisation or with a national of a third State, shall, under the conditions laid down in the original Treaties and in this Act, be binding on the new Member States.
This Agreement shall not affect the rights and obligations of the Participating Countries andof the Euratom Community deriving from bilateral or multilateral Agreements or conventions which are currently in force or to be concluded in the areas covered by the present Agreement and which are in keeping with its objective.
The accession of the new Member States to the agreements or conventions mentioned in paragraph 4, as well as the agreements with Belarus, China, Chile, Mercosur and Switzerland which have been concluded or signed by the Community andits present Member States jointly shall be agreed by the conclusion of a protocol to such agreements or conventions between the Council, acting unanimously on behalf of the Member States, and the third country or countries or international organisation concerned.
In the event of the Secretary-General of the Council being designated as depositary of an agreement concluded in accordance with Article 24 of the EU Treaty or concluded by the Community and one or more States or international organisations, of a convention concluded between Member States or of a convention established pursuant to Article 34 of the EU Treaty, the acts of ratification,acceptance or approval of those agreements or conventions shall be deposited at the address of the Council.
The new Member States undertake to accede, under the conditions laid down in this Act, to the agreements or conventions concluded or provisionally applied by the present Member States and the Community, acting jointly, and to the agreements concluded by those States which are related to those agreements or conventions.
The accession of the new Member States to the agreements or conventions mentioned in paragraph 6 below, as well as the agreements with Belarus, China, Chile, Mercosur and Switzerland which have been concluded or signed by the Community and its Member States jointly shall be agreed by the conclusion of a protocol to such agreements or conventions between the Council, acting unanimously on behalf of the Member States, and the third country or countries or international organisation concerned.
The Hellenic Republic shall take the necessary measures t«i ensure its accession to the agreements or conventions referred to in Articles 3(2) and 4(2) of the Act concerning the Conditions of Accession and the Adjustments to the Treaties coincides so far as possible, and under the conditions laid down in that Act, with the entry into force of the Treaty of Accession.
The new Member States shall be required to accede, under the conditions laid down in this Protocol, to the agreements or conventions concluded or provisionally applied by the present Member States and the Union or the European Atomic Energy Community, acting jointly, and to the agreements concluded by those States which are related to those agreements or conventions.
Preference" means the tariff system whereby preferential customs duties are applicable which are wholly or partially suspended pursuant to conventions, agreements or specific regulations of the Community.
As ceiling amounts when they concern loansin individual countries or groups of countries to be granted under Community agreements, conventions or decisions on financial cooperation with various non-member countries.
