The rule of special jurisdiction provided for in Article 6(1)of Regulation No 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters cannot be applied to a dispute falling under Section 5 of Chapter II of that regulation concerning the jurisdiction rules applicable to individual contracts of employment.
The next item is the debate on the report(A5-0253/2000) by Mrs Wallis, on behalf of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal Market, on the proposal for a Council regulation(EC) on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters COM(1999) 348- C5-0169/1999- 1999/0154CNS.
The rule of special jurisdiction set out in Article 6(1) of Council Regulation(EC)No 44/2001 of 22 December 2000 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters can apply in the context of Section 5 relating to the rules relating to jurisdiction over individual contracts of employment.
That Council Decision became necessary, according to the second and third re-citals in the preamble, because rules of the Supplementary Fund Protocol affect Council Regulation(EC)No 44/2001 of 22 December 2000 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters 14and fall within the exclusive competence of the Community.

Draft agreements between the European Community and the Kingdom of Denmark, extending to Denmark the provisions of Regulation(EC)No 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters, and the provisions of Regulation(EC) No 1348/2000 on the service in the Member States of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil or commercial matters.
