The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials CNPEM.
CNPEM is currently engaged in the construction of a new internationally competitive synchrotron ring, which will be called Sirius.
Most of the experiments will be performed using the facilities available at CNPEM and at collaborating institutions, such as at the SOLEIL synchrotron.
The Center will properly care about human resource formation, technology transfer, and education and knowledge dissemination under the HUB proposal from LNNano/CNPEM.
LNBio is part of the National Center for Research in Energy and Material(CNPEM), a social organization supervised by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications MCTIC.
The CNPEM is also home to UVX, the first synchrotron light source in the Southern Hemisphere, without which Sirius would never have been built, as explained by special editor Ricardo Zorzetto in this issue's cover story.
São Paulo School of Advanced Science on e-Science for Bioenergy Research(SPSAS e-SciBioenergy)Campinas- SP Grant number: 11/51573-5 Institution: Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials CNPEM.
Pedro Wongtschowski, a chemical engineer who chaired the CNPEM board from 2010 to 2015, attributes the project's staying on schedule and its low number of budget changes to the adoption of a governance model used by the private sector on large-scale projects.
At the same time, the trio perfected a third-generation light source project developed by the team led by physicist José Antônio Brum, who directed the Brazilian Association of Synchrotron Light Technology(ABTLuS),now CNPEM, from 2001 to 2009.
Chemist Juliana Bernardes of the Brazilian National Nanotechnology Laboratory(LNNano)at the Center for Research in Energy and Materials(CNPEM) is coordinating a line of research using cellulose nanocrystals and nanofibrils extracted from sugarcane bagasse as thickeners in fluids.
In december 2014, it has officially begun the construction of sirius, the new particles accelerator at the brazilian synchrotron light laboratory(lnls),on the campus of the brazilian center for research in energy and materials(cnpem), in campinas, são paulo.
Carlos Américo Pacheco, current director of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials(CNPEM), who served as executive secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology from 1999 to 2002, emphasizes that the new law is not self-applicable, i.e.
It presents the research methodology under a context where the lnls is part of the first, so called, social organization(so) in brazil.this social organization is called cnpem- national research center for materials science and energy.
Sirius has been under construction since 2014 at the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials(CNPEM), 15 kilometers from Campinas. It should be ready for an initial test by the end of this year, if the requested funds approved by the federal government months ago are released soon.
While not part of Unicamp, the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory(LNLS) is a research institution focused on physics, structural biology and nanotechnology that maintains close ties with the university andis operated as part of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials CNPEM.
By the end of the year, working together with São Paulo State's Institute for Technological Research(IPT) and the National Nanotechnology Laboratory(LNNANO)of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials(CNPEM), tests with clay nanoparticles should begin with several target species under study in the BLAST laboratory.
Transforming vinasse into biogas with biodigesters can solve this problem, as demonstrated by two projects under development: one at the São Carlos School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo(EESC-USP), and the other at the Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory(CTBE)of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials CNPEM.
In 2016 the event was hosted by Gabriela Celani, from the University of Campinas, and Olfa Kanoun, from Chemnitz University of Technology. It was held at the National Center of Research in Energy and Materials- CNPEM, which groups together national laboratories in the areas of bioethanol, biosciences and nanotechnology, and the only Latin American synchrotron light source.
This helps in the search for economic viability and justifies new investments in research," says Rossell, who from 2010 to 2016 coordinated the pilot plant of the Brazilian Laboratory of Bioethanol Science and Technology(CTBE),which is linked to the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials(CNPEM) in Campinas.
The Dense Energy Carrier Division will consolidate expertise in materials processing, advanced characterization andphysics of semiconductors devices of LNNano/CNPEM with that of Universidade Estadual de Campinas(UNICAMP), Universidade Federal do ABC(UFABC) and Universidade Federal de São Carlos(UFSCar) in electrochemistry and photoelectrochemestry to develop state-of-the-art resear….
Because the second-generation synchrotron at the National Synchrotron-Light Laboratory(adjacentto LNBio at the National Center for Energy and Materials Research, or CNPEM) did not have the capacity to produce images of samples(like those of the 15 x 5 cm fossilized fishes), the material was analyzed at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France, using fourth-generation equipment capable of higher-energy beam generation.
