Fugitive Intelligence Support Team.
The Chief also has a Forensics Unit, a Military Analysis Team,a Leadership Research Team and a Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Services Unit.
Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit.
The incumbent is responsible for the activities of the Forensic Unit, the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit, the Leadership Research and Military Analysis Teams, the Field Mission Offices and the Investigations Tracking Analyst.
Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit.
During the reporting period, the Office retained its current structure with only a few modifications in two areas:the creation of the Fugitive Intelligence Support Team and an increase in staff to handle evidence and information.
Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Source Unit, Investigation Division.
A pool of 10 secretaries currently provides support to the Investigation Division: one for the three Investigation Commanders; one for the Operations Commander; six for the nine investigation teams; one jointly for the Leadership Research Team and the Military Analysis Team;and one for the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit.
Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit. This was a functioning unit within the former Strategy Team.
Noting the comments of the Advisory Committee in its report(A/51/7/Add.7, para. 25), the Prosecutor has disbanded the Strategy Team and has divided the three main functions previously performed by it into three new operational units, namely, the Leadership Research Team,the Military Analysis Team and the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit.
The Investigation Section, which comprises nineinvestigation teams, a Forensic Unit, a Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit, a Leadership Research Team and a Military Analysis Team, is fully involved in the conduct of investigations into matters which fall within the Tribunal ' s jurisdiction.
Administrative support. A pool of 10 secretaries currently provides support to the Investigations Section, one for the Chief of Investigations, one jointly for the Investigation Commanders, one for the Operations Commander, six for the nine investigation teams(each secretary offering support to two investigation teams)and one for the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit.
The Section is now currently composed of the Office of the Chief of Investigations; the nine investigation teams; the Forensic Unit; three new unitsfrom the disbanded Strategy Team, namely, the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit, the Leadership Research Team and the Military Analysis Team; the field offices(Belgrade, Sarajevo and Zagreb); and a secretarial support pool.
The Investigation Division(see organigramme in annex IV. G), which comprises nine investigation teams, the Kosovo investigation team,the Forensic Unit, the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit, the Leadership Research Team, the Military Analysis Team and four field offices, is fully involved in the conduct of investigations into serious violations of international humanitarian law that fall within the Tribunal's jurisdiction.
Because of the enlarged role of the Office of the Prosecutor facilitated by the Dayton Accord,the Prosecutor has expanded the Sarajevo field office and created the Fugitive Intelligence Support Team, which is meant to assist in obtaining persons accused by the Tribunal through its coordination of various national and international law enforcement agencies.
The Investigations Division needs a total of 12 translators to work with it closely: one translator for each of its nine teams(excluding Kosovo); and three translators shared between the Leadership Research team,the Military Analysis Team and the Fugitive Intelligence and Sensitive Sources Unit. So far, the Section has managed to assign six translators(at P-2 level) to the Investigations Division, and is to utilize two additional P-2 posts from the French Unit for this purpose.
(a) Investigative: witness and expert witness statements, summaries of witness interviews, witness schedules and protective measures for witnesses;reports on the arrest of fugitives, intelligence related to suspects and fugitives, the collection of evidence relevant to investigations, trials and appeals and requests for assistance; witness binders; briefs of evidence for the submission of indictments; unofficial translations and English summaries of documentation in the local language; and indictment reviews;
The lead investigator of the Team also works with designated members of eachinvestigation team to coordinate fugitive tracking and intelligence gathering and to guarantee that the apprehension offugitives remains a priority for all teams.
The Croatian Government has now made new promises, and an action plan has been designed. If carried out with the necessary resolve, this action plan has the potential to hit hard at Gotovina 's support networks and provide detailed intelligence about the fugitive ' s whereabouts.

The role of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Intelligence and Security Agency is to be commended for its excellent groundwork, which helped lead to the arrest of Tribunal fugitives Stojan Zuplijanin and Radovan Karadzic.
My office cooperates with and supports the activities conducted by the Tribunal, NATO, EUFOR, the Republika Srpska police,the Bosnia and Herzegovina Intelligence and Security Agency, and others involved in efforts to bring the four remaining fugitives to justice.
