The Commission reiterated its appeal to all States, international organizations and other interested entities to consider making contributions to the UNCITRAL Trust Fund for Symposia, if possible in the form of multi-year contributions, or as purpose-specific contributions, so as to facilitate planning and enable the Secretariat to meet the increasing demands from developing countries andStates with economies in transition for training and technical legislative assistance.

Mr. Shang Zhen(China) said that the UNCITRAL Rules on Transparency in Treaty-based Investor-State Arbitration, the revisions to the Guide to Enactment of theUNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency and the Technical Legislative Guide on the Implementation of a Security Rights Registry would undoubtedly be helpful in improving relevant domestic legislation.
Her country supported the Commission ' s training and technical legislative assistance programme and its information seminar and mission, and considered that travel assistance should be provided to developing countries that were members of the Commission.
Activities in the second pillar would focus on coordination of the work of internationalorganizations involved in international trade law, technical legislative assistance, in particular to developing countries, and the dissemination of recent legal developments, including case law, in the field of international trade law.

The role of that pillar would be centred around coordination of the work of international organizationsactive in the field of international trade law; technical legislative assistance, in particular to developing countries, to facilitate their participation in existing conventions and the implementation of model legislation prepared by UNCITRAL; and dissemination of information on modern legal developments, including case law, in the field of international trade law.
In the absence of an effective and efficient security interests registry,such as the one recommended in the Guide and in the draft Technical Legislative Guide on the Implementation of a Security Rights Registry, MFIs develop mechanisms that may or may not be legal or fair and probably do not protect sufficiently their security interests.
