Acknowledges with appreciation that the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee has developed a standard for applying the concepts of materiality andlevel of assurance in verifications conducted in accordance with paragraph 37 of the joint implementation guidelines;
Invites Parties wishing to be involved in joint implementation projects to provide to the secretariat information in accordance with paragraph 20 of the joint implementation guidelines contained in the annex to decision 9/CMP.1 if this information has not been previously provided;
Also acknowledges with appreciation that the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee has developed a determination and verification manual to assist accredited independent entities in undertaking determinations as referredto in paragraphs 33 and 37 of the joint implementation guidelines;
Takes note with appreciation that 102 project design documents and two determinations regarding project design documents have been made publicly availablein accordance with paragraphs 32 and 34 of the joint implementation guidelines and that numerous assessment activities have been undertaken regarding 15 applications for accreditation of independent entities;
Requests the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee to conduct an assessment of the implications of possible inclusion of the concepts of materiality and level of assurance in joint implementation for the processof determinations referred to in paragraphs 33 and 37 of the joint implementation guidelines;
Recalling decision 9/CMP.1, paragraph 7,which states that any administrative costs arising from procedures contained in the joint implementation guidelines relating to the functions of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee shall be borne by both the Parties included in Annex I to the Convention and the project participants.
Acknowledges the development by the secretariat of a web-based interface that, inter alia, provides an overview of all joint implementation projects, in accordance with decision 3/CMP.3, paragraph 4, for the use of designated focal points of Parties that haveprovided information in accordance with paragraph 20 of the joint implementation guidelines and that host joint implementation projects;
Notes the intent of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee, as described in its annual report, to continue to operate andprovide guidance on the verification procedure established under section E of the joint implementation guidelines during the period before any amendments to Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol for the second commitment period enter into force, taking into account decision 4/CMP.6, paragraph 10;
Agrees to continue consideration of the issue of issuance of emission reduction units from those projects at its seventh session, while noting that the host Party may issue and transfer emission reduction units only after the amendment to include it in Annex B enters into force andupon its meeting of the eligibility requirements set out in paragraph 21 of the joint implementation guidelines;
Invites Parties wishing to be involved in joint implementation projects to provide to the secretariat information in accordance with paragraph 20 of the joint implementation guidelines if this information has not been previously provided;
Notes with appreciation that 209 project design documents, 17 determinations regarding project design documents, 10 monitoring reports and seven verifications of reductions in anthropogenic emissions by sources or enhancements of anthropogenic removals by sinks have been made publicly available in accordance with paragraphs 32, 34,36 and 38 of the joint implementation guidelines, and that 15 independent entities have applied for accreditation;
Invites Parties wishing to be involved in joint implementation projects to provide to the secretariat information in accordance with paragraph 20 of the joint implementation guidelines, if this information has not been previously provided;
Notes with appreciation that 169 project design documents, seven determinations regarding project design documents, two monitoring reports and one verification of reductions in anthropogenic emissions by sources or enhancements of anthropogenic removals by sinks have been made publicly available in accordance with paragraphs 32, 34,36 and 38 of the joint implementation guidelines and that assessment of 15 applications for accreditation of independent entities is progressing;
Notes with appreciation that 238 project design documents and one programme of activities design document, 28 determinations regarding project design documents, 32 monitoring reports and 26 verifications of reductions in anthropogenic emissions by sources or enhancements of anthropogenic removals by sinks have been made publicly available in accordance with paragraphs 32, 34,36 and 38 of the joint implementation guidelines, that 15 independent entities have applied for accreditation and that there are currently three accredited independent entities;
