What is the actual objective of the'Interprise' programme?
The objective of the INTERPRISE programme is to stimulate contacts between small and medium-sized enterprises in the Community.
Partnership meetings are held in third countries along the same lines as the EUROPARTENARIAT and INTERPRISE programmes.

The INTERPRISE programme(Initiatives to Encourage Partnerships between Industries and/or Services in Europe) aims at stimulating contacts between small and medium-sized enterprises in the European Union.
Two'Europartenariat' events were organized- in March in Dortmund(Germany) and in November in Lisbon(Portugal)- at which thousands of SMEs from some 50 countries were able to consolidate their contacts,while the'Interprise' programme enabled some 40 regional events to be organized for contacts among businesses.
The INTERPRISE programme(initiative to encourage partnerships between industries and/or services in Europe) has been designed to stimulate contacts between small and medium-sized enterprises in the Com munity.
While it is true that the instruments(Euro-Info-Centres,BC-NET and the EUROPARTENARIAT and INTERPRISE Programmes) were set up by the Community to help its own businesses, extending them to businesses in third countries can only help to promote cooperation between development partners.

The support measures taken under enterprise policy concern mainly information via the Euro Info Centres- recognised as"first-stop shops" for access to Communityinformation for enterprises- the Europeanisation and internationalisation of enterprises through interenterprise cooperation networks(BC-NET and BRE) and the EUROPARTENARIAT and INTERPRISE programmes, as well as transnational subcontracting schemes such as the organisation of international buyers' exhibitions IBEX.

The'Interprise' programme, which is focused on market niches or on markets which are complementary from an economic or sectoral viewpoint, was very successful in promoting contacts and cooperation between enterprises in the regions concerned.
