Directive 95/46/EC governs the processing of personal data carried out pursuant to this Regulation.
Any processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  this Directive must also comply with applicable national provisions on data  protection implementing Directive 95/46/EC9, which will be replaced by Regulation(EU) 2016/67910, and with Regulation(EC) No 45/200111.
Member States shall apply Directive 95/46/EC to the processing of personal data carried out in the Member States pursuant to this Regulation.
The processing of personal data carried out by national authorities or private entities falls outside the area of  competence of  the EDPS.
Directive 95/46/EC of  the European Parliament andthe Council applies to the processing of personal data carried out in application of  this Regulation.
The processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  this Directive shall be carried out  in compliance with Directive 95/46/EC.
Legislation in force on personal data  protection will apply to the processing of personal data carried out for the purpose of  a citizens' initiative.
The processing of personal data carried out in the context of  Ö Chapter III of  Title I and Chapter II of  Title II Õ shall be subject to Directive 95/46/EC.
Regulation(EC) No 45/2001 of  the European Parliament and of  the Council(19)governs the processing of personal data carried out by ESMA pursuant to this Regulation.
The processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  this Directive shall be carried out  in compliance with Directives 95/46/EC and 2002/58/EC.
(37) Comprehensive responsibility and liability of  the controller for any processing of personal data carried out by the controller or on the controller's behalf should be established.
The processing of personal data carried out in the context of  this Directive shall be subject to Directive 95/46/EC of  the European Parliament and of  the Council(*).
Regulation EC No 45/2001 of  the European Parliament and of  the Council(*)shall apply to the processing of personal data carried out by ESMA pursuant to this Directive.
Each Member State shall ensure that the processing of personal data carried out in application of  this Regulation shall be in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC18.
(22) Directive 95/46/EC of  the European Parliament and the Council of  24 October 1995 on the protection of  individuals with regard to the processing of personal data  andon the free movement of  such data13 applies to the processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  this Directive.
Regulation(EC) No 45/2001 shall apply to the processing of personal data carried out by the Commission and the Agency pursuant to this Regulation.
(24) Directive 95/46/EC of  the European Parliament and of  the Council of  24 October 1995 on the protection of  individuals with regard to the processing of personal data  andon the free movement of  such data37 governs the processing of personal data carried out in the context of  this Directive by Member States.
Article 6 provides that the processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  the Regulation shall be carried out  in compliance with Directive 95/46/EC and Directive 2002/58/EC.
As the Commission is part of  the European Platform, Regulation(EC) No 45/2001 on the protection of  individuals with regard to the processing of personal data  by the Community institutions and bodies andon the free movement of  such data30 equally applies to processing of personal data carried out in the framework of  this Decision.
Recital 74 EU GDPR(74) The responsibility andliability of  the controller for any processing of personal data carried out by the controller or on the controller's behalf should be established.
The processing of personal data carried out within the framework of  this Regulation including, in particular, for purposes of  verification under Article 5(2), shall be carried out  in compliance with Directives 95/46/EC and 2002/58/EC.

Member States shall provide for exemptions or derogations from the provisions of  this Chapter, Chapter IV andChapter VI for the processing of personal data carried out solely for journalistic purposes or the purpose of  artistic or literary expression only if they are necessary to reconcile the right to privacy with the rules governing freedom of  expression.
Regulation(EC) No 45/2001 of  the European Parliament and of  the Council of  18 December 2000 on the protection of  individuals with regard to the processing of personal data  by the Community institutions and bodies andon the free movement of  such data,  shall govern the processing of personal data carried out by the Commission in the application of  this Regulation.
These rules should apply to the processing of personal data carried out under this Regulation by the various actors of  the platform, whether they act alone or jointly with other actors of  the platform.
