UNCTAD should continue andstrengthen its assistance provided to the LDCs acceding to WTO.
Even LDCs acceding to the WTO are expected to make commitments exceeding those of existing WTO members.
Also, LDCs acceding to the WTO, such as Bhutan, Cape Verde, Ethiopia and Viet Nam, benefited from short commercial diplomacy seminars.
Cross-cutting issues: Assistance has been provided to several African countries and LDCs which are acceding to the WTO.
In this context, acceding countries, particularly LDCs, before and in the post-accession period, could need technical assistance.
Moreover, acceding developing countries, including LDCs, have found it difficult to avail themselves of the special and differential treatment provisions of the Agreement.
