Following the recent tour of the Security Council in the Great Lakes region, in particular the meeting between the Political Committee for the Implementation of the Lusaka Ceasefire Agreement, which my country had the honour and the privilege to chair, andthe Security Council, headed by the Ambassador of France, H.E. Mr. Jean-David Levitte, on 22 May 2001, I have the honour to transmit to you the joint communiqué signed by both the Political Committee and the Security Council.
