In the light of the decision on new working arrangements and in order to accommodate the requirements of rule 42 of the rules of procedure, the Commission decided to appoint Messrs. Awosika andHeinesen to that Subcommission to allow Messrs. Kalngui and Urabe to be appointed as members of other subcommissions.

By-elections. On 11 August 2011, at a special meeting ofthe States parties to the Convention, Mr. Tetsuro Urabe(Japan) was elected to fill the vacancy that had occurred owing to the death of Mr. Kensaku Tamaki Japan.

At least one dose of MMR vaccine is effective in preventing clinical mumps among children and adolescents when prepared with Jeryl Lynn strains(vaccine effectiveness= 69% to 81%, one cohort and one case-control study, 1656 participants),as well as when prepared with Urabe strain(vaccine effectiveness= 70% to 75%, one cohort and one case-control study, 1964 participants).
