Sourcing generic data.
Generic data collection.
The“shall/should/may” requirements are summarised for both specific and generic data.
A DAT file is a generic data file created by a specific application.
We prepare anonymous, aggregate or generic data(including“generic” statistics) for a number of purposes outlined above.
The“shall/should/may” requirements are summarised for both specific and generic data.
When available,sector-specific generic data shall be used instead of multi-sector generic data.
Generic data refers to data that are not based on direct measurements or calculation of the respective processes in the system.
The use and collection requirements of specific and generic data are described in more detail in sections 5.7 and 5.8 respectively.
However, in case generic data is more representative or appropriate than specific data(to be justified and reported) for foreground processes, generic data shall be also used for the foreground.
It should be noted that emission factors may be derived from generic data subject to data quality requirements.
If this information is not available, generic data should be used which should be sourced according to the sources of generic data listed in section 5.8.
(29) PEPP providers should draw up a Pension Benefit Statement addressed to PEPP savers,in order to present them with key personal and generic data about the PEPP scheme and to ensure continuous information on it.
If this is not possible or feasible, generic data should be used(see, for example, the“ELCD Reference elementary flows”104, and the ELCD database under EoL treatment/ Energy recycling105).
(43) PEPP providers should draw up a PEPP benefit statement addressed to PEPP savers,in order to present them with key personal and generic data about the PEPP▌ and to ensure up-to-date information on it.
Generic data should be used only for processes and activities outside the defined Organisational boundary or for providing emission factors for activity data describing foreground processes.
However, if generic data are more representative or appropriate than specific data(to be reported and justified) for foreground processes, generic data shall also be used for the foreground processes.
If a screening stepis conducted, readily available specific and/or generic data shall be used fulfilling the data quality requirements as defined in section 5.6.
Generic data are data sourced from third-party life cycle inventory databases, government or industry association reports, statistical databases, peer-reviewed literature, or other sources.
If a screening step is conducted(highly recommended),readily available specific and/or generic data shall be used fulfilling the data quality requirements as defined in Section 5.6.
Generic Data- Refers to data that is not directly collected, measured, or estimated, but rather sourced from a third-party life-cycle-inventory database or other source that complies with the data quality requirements of the PEF method.
In the final Resource Use and Emissions Profile, for the processes and/or activities accounting for at least 70% of contributions to each EF impact category, both specific and generic data shall achieve at least an overall“good quality” level.
(62) Generic data is data that is not directly collected, measured, or estimated, but rather sourced from a third-party life-cycle inventory database or other source that complies with the data quality requirements of the Organisation Environmental Footprint method.
The data quality requirements related to completeness, methodological appropriateness& consistency, and parameter uncertainty shall be met by sourcing generic data exclusively from data sources complying with the requirements of this OEF Guide.
In the final Resource Use and Emissions Profile, for the processes or activities accounting for at least 70% of contributions to each impact category(based on the screening exercise, if conducted),both specific and generic data shall achieve at least an overall“good quality” level.
The data quality requirements related to completeness, methodological appropriateness and consistency, and parameter uncertainty should be met by sourcing generic data exclusively from data sources that comply with the requirements of the PEF Guide.
