With this worldly perspective, Gene Roddenberry did what anyone would do.
Whoever desires a reward in this life of the world, then with Allah(Alone and none else) is the reward of this worldly life and of the Hereafter. And Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer.
My people, this worldly life is only the means(to an end), but the life hereafter will be the everlasting abode.
They said,"Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and[over] He who created us. So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life.
O my people, this worldly life is only[temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter- that is the home of[permanent] settlement.
Let neither their possessions nor their children impress you. God intends to torment them through them in this worldly life, and that their souls depart while they are disbelievers.
And this worldly life is nothing but pastime and game; indeed the abode of the Hereafter- that is indeed the true life; if only they knew.
And of mankind there is he whose speech may please you(O Muhammad SAW), in this worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of the opponents.
And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter- that is the[eternal] life, if only they knew.
Bending his neck in pride(far astray from the Path of Allah), and leading(others) too(far) astray from the Path of Allah. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning Fire.
There is he whose sayings pleases you in this worldly life and uses Allah as a witness for what is in his heart, but he is most stubborn in adversary.
But when He delivered them, behold! They rebel(disobey Allah) in the earth wrongfully. O mankind! Your rebellion(disobedience to Allah) is only against your ownselves,- a brief enjoyment of this worldly life, then(in the end) unto Us is your return, and We shall inform you that which you used to do.
This worldly life is only amusement and diversion. And if you believe and fear Allah, He will give you your rewards and not ask you for your properties.
O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord(by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, let not then this(worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver(Satan) deceive you about Allah.
You pleaded on their behalf in this worldly life but who will plead with Allah on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection, or who will be their defender there?
Believers! When you go forth in the way of Allah, discern(between friend and foe), and do not say to him who offers you the greeting of peace:'You are not a believer.' If you seek the good of this worldly life, there lies with Allah abundant gain. After all, you too were such before, and then Allah was gracious to you. Discern, then, for Allah is well aware of what you do.
They have said,"The only life is this worldly life and here we shall live and die. It is only time which will destroy us" They have no knowledge about this. It is only their guesswork.
O People who Believe! When you go forth to fight in holy war, make a proper study, and do not say to the one who greets you,“You are not a Muslim,”- you seek the means of this worldly life; so with Allah are the bounties in plenty; you too were like this before, then Allah bestowed His favour on you, therefore you must make a proper study; indeed Allah knows whatever you do.
The example of what they spend in this worldly life is similar to the freezing cold wind which struck the fields of a nation who wronged themselves, and destroyed it completely; and Allah did not oppress them, but it is they who wronged themselves.
Here you are- those who argue on their behalf in[this] worldly life- but who will argue with Allah for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will[then] be their representative?
This worldly life has been made very charming and alluring for those who have adopted the way of disbelief. So they mock at those who have adopted the way of belief, but(they forget that) the pious people will rank above them on the Day of Resurrection. As to the wordly provisions, Allah has full authority and power to bestow these without measure on anyone He wills.
So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah(Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe(in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord concerning all of their affairs.
In(to) this worldly life and in the Hereafter. And they ask you concerning orphans. Say:"The best thing is to work honestly in their property, and if you mix your affairs with theirs, then they are your brothers. And Allah knows him who means mischief(e.g. to swallow their property) from him who means good(e.g. to save their property). And if Allah had wished, He could have put you into difficulties. Truly, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
The parable of what they spend in this worldly life is that of a frosty wind that strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged their souls, and destroys it. God did not wrong them, but they wronged their own selves.
So We sent upon them furious wind in days of evil omen(for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life, but surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.
