And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty.

اور اپنے رب کی عبادت کرتے رہو یہاں تک کہ تمہیں موت آجائے

(It was said) O Abraham! Forsake this! Lo! thy Lord's commandment hath gone forth,and lo! there cometh unto them a doom which cannot be repelled.

(فرشتوں نے کہا:) اے ابراہیم! اس(بات) سے درگزر کیجئے، بیشک اب توآپ کے رب کا حکمِ(عذاب) آچکا ہے، اور انہیں عذاب پہنچنے ہی والا ہے جو پلٹایا نہیں جا سکتا

پھر ان کے پاس وہ عذاب آئے جس کا وعدہ دیے جاتے ہیں

And follow the best of that which hath been sent down Unto you from your Lord there cometh on you torment of a sudden, while ye perceive not.

اور تمہارے رب کی طرف سے جو بہترین قانون نازل کیا گیا ہے اس کا اتباع کرو قبل اس کے کہ تم تک اچانک عذاب آجائے اور تمہیں اس کا شعور بھی نہ ہو

پھر ان کے پاس وہ(عذاب) آپہنچے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جار ہا ہے

اور اس(واقعہ) کے بعد ہم نے بنی اسرائیل سے کہا کہ تم اس سر زمین میں سکونت اختیارکرو۔ پس جب آخرت کا وعدہ آجائے گا تو ہم تم(سب) کو(اپنے حضور) سمیٹ لائیں گے

پھر ان پر وہ عذاب آجائے جس سے انہیں ڈرایا جاتا تھا

All that we relate to thee of the stories of the messengers,-with it We make firm thy heart: in them there cometh to thee the Truth, as well as an exhortation and a message of remembrance to those who believe.

رسولوں کے سب احوال ہم آپ کے سامنے آپ کے دل کیتسکین کے لئے بیان فرما رہے ہیں۔ آپ کے پاس اس سورت میں بھی حق پہنچ چکا جو نصیحت ووعﻆہے مومنوں کے لئے

There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing.

ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی نئی یاددہانی ان کے پاس آتی ہے۔ تو وہ اسے کھیل کود میں لگے ہوئے سنتے ہیں

All that we relate to thee of the stories of the apostles,-with it We make firm thy heart: in them there cometh to thee the Truth, as well as an exhortation and a message of remembrance to those who believe.

اور ہم رسولوں کی خبروں میں سے سب حالات آپ کو سنا رہے ہیں جس سے ہم آپ کے قلبِ(اَطہر)کو تقویت دیتے ہیں، اور آپ کے پاس اس(سورت) میں حق اور نصیحت آئی ہے اور اہلِ ایمان کے لئے عبرت(و یاددہانی بھی)o

And when there cometh unto them a messenger from Allah, confirming that which they possess, a party of those who have received the Scripture fling the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they knew not.

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے وہ رسول(حضرت محمد(ص)) آیا جو ان کے پاس والی کتاب کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہے تو انہی اہل کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے کتابِ خدا(توراۃ) کو اس طرح پس پشت ڈال دیا کہ جیسے کہ وہ اسے جانتے ہی نہیں

And verily We gave unto Moses the Scripture and We caused a train of messengers to follow after him, and We gave unto Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs(of Allah's sovereignty), and Wesupported him with the Holy spirit. Is it ever so, that, when there cometh unto you a messenger(from Allah) with that which ye yourselves desire not, ye grow arrogant, and some ye disbelieve and some ye slay?

ہم نے(حضرت) موسیٰ کو کتاب دی اور ان کے پیچھے اور رسول بھیجے اور ہم نے(حضرت) عیسیٰ ابن مریم کو روشن دلیلیں دیں اور روح القدس سے ان کی تائیدکروائی۔ لیکن جب کبھی تمہارے پاس رسول وه چیز ﻻئے جو تمہاری طبیعتوں کے خلاف تھی، تم نے جھٹ سے تکبر کیا، پس بعض کو تو جھٹلادیا اور بعض کو قتل بھی کرڈاﻻ?

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے کتاب آئی جو تصدیق کرتی ہے اس کی جو ان کے پاس ہے اور اس سے پہلے وہ کفار پر فتح مانگا کرتے تھے پھر جب ان کے پاس وہ چیز آئی جسے انہوں نے پہچان لیا تو اس کا انکارکیاسوکافروں پر الله کی لعنت ہے

اور ان کے پاس جب اللہ تعالیٰ کی کتاب ان کی کتاب کو سچا کرنے والی آئی، حاﻻنکہ پہلے یہ خود(اس کے ذریعہ) کافروں پر فتح چاہتے تھے تو باوجود آجانے اور باوجود پہچان لینے کے پھر کفر کرنے لگے، اللہ تعالیٰ کی لعنت ہو کافروں پر

اور جب الله کے ہاں سے ان کے پاس کتاب آئی جو ان کی(آسمانی) کتاب کی بھی تصدیق کرتی ہے، اور وہ پہلے(ہمیشہ) کافروں پر فتح مانگا کرتے تھے، تو جس چیز کو وہ خوب پہچانتے تھے، جب ان کے پاس آپہنچی تو اس سے کافر ہو گئے۔ پس کافروں پر الله کی لعنت

اور جب ان کے پاس خدا کی طرف سے کتاب آئی ہے جو ان کی توریت وغیرہ کی تصدیق بھی کرنے والی ہے اور اس کے پہلے وہ دشمنوںکے مقابلہ میں اسی کے ذریعہ طلب فتح بھی کرتے تھے لیکن اس کے آتے ہی منکر ہوگئے حالانکہ اسے پہچانتے بھی تھے تو اب کافروں پر خدا کی لعنتہے

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی وہ کتاب(قرآن) آئی جو ان کے ساتھ والی کتاب(توریت) کی تصدیق فرماتی ہے اور اس سے پہلے وہ اسی نبی کے وسیلہ سے کافروں پر فتح مانگتے تھے تو جب تشریف لایا انکے پاس وہ جانا پہچانا اس سے منکر ہو بیٹھے تو اللہ کی لعنت منکروں پر

And whensoever there cometh unto them a sign, they say: we shall not believe until we are vouchsafed the like of that which is vouchsafed unto the apostles of Allah. Allah knoweth best wheresoever to place His apostleship. Anon shall befall those who have sinned vileness before Allah and severe chastisement for that which they were wont to plot.

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی آئے تو کہتے ہی ہم ہر گز ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب تک ہمیں بھی ویسا ہی نہ ملے جیسا اللہ کے رسولوں کو ملا اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جہاں اپنی رسالت رکھے عنقریب مجرموں کو اللہ کے یہاں ذلت پہنچے گی اور سخت عذاب بدلہ ان کے مکر کا

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے وہ کتاب آئی جو ان کے پاس والی کتاب(توراۃ) کی تصدیق کرتی ہے باوجودیکہ اس کے آنے سے پہلے خود یہ لوگ کافروں کے خلاف اس کے ذریعہ سے فتح و ظفر طلب کیا کرتے تھے۔ مگر جب وہ(کتاب) ان کے پاس آگئی جسے وہ پہچانتے تھے تو اس کا انکار کر دیا۔ پس کافروں(منکروں) پر اللہ کی لعنت ہو

And when there cometh unto them aught of security aught of alarm, they bruit it; abroad: whereas had they referred it to the apostle and those in authority among them, then those of them who can think it out would have known it. And had there not been Allah's grace upon you and His mercy, ye would surely have followed Satan, save a few.

اور جب ان کے پاس امن یا خوف کی خبر آتی ہے تو فورا نشر کردیتے ہیں حالانکہ اگر رسول اور صاحبانِ امر کی طرف پلٹا دیتے تو ان سے استفادہ کرنے والے حقیقت حال کا علم پیدا کرلیتے اور اگر تم لوگوں پر خدا کا فضل اور ا سکی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو چند افراد کے علاوہ سب شیطان کا اتباع کرلیتے

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی آتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اس وقت تک ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب تک ہمیں بھی ویسی ہی وحی نہ دی جائے جیسی رسولوں کو دی گئی ہے جب کہ اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اپنی رسالت کو کہاں رکھے گا اور عنقریب مجرمین کو ان کے جرم کی پاداش میں خدا کے یہاں ذلّت اور شدید ترین عذاب کا سامنا کرنا ہوگا

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی آتی ہے(تو) کہتے ہیں: ہم ہرگز ایمان نہیں لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ ہمیں بھی ویسی ہی(نشانی) دی جائے جیسی اﷲ کے رسولوں کو دی گئی ہے۔ اﷲ خوب جانتا ہے کہ اسے اپنی رسالت کا محل کسے بنانا ہے۔ عنقریب مجرموں کو اﷲ کے حضور ذلت رسید ہوگی اور سخت عذاب بھی(ملے گا) اس وجہ سے کہ وہ مکر(اور دھوکہ دہی) کرتے تھے
