The proposals made in this additional working paper are based primarily on the discussion which took place during the fiftyfirst session of the SubCommission when it considered this agenda item.
At the 2nd meeting of the Working Group, on 26 January 1998, the delegation of Cuba referred to the consideration of its revised proposal at the previous session of the Special Committee14 and presented an additional working paper(A/AC.182/L.93/Add.1), which read as follows.
A series of additional working papers on sustainable forest management, improved productivity from industrial forest plantations, fibre supply modelling, and recovered and non-wood fibre;

The Working Group expressed appreciation to Ms. Hampson for the additional working paper on the human rights situation of indigenous peoples in States and territories threatened with extinction for environmental reasons and decided to recommend to the Sub-Commission to appoint Ms. Hampson as the Special Rapporteur to produce a study on this important matter.

Additional expanded working paper by Mr. Rodríguez Cuadros on measures provided in the various international human rights instruments for the promotion and consolidation of democracy decision 2002/116.
In its decision 2002/116, the Sub-Commission decided to request Mr. RodríguezCuadros to prepare,without financial implications, an additional expanded working paper for submission to the SubCommission at its fiftyfifth session.
The Working Group also had before it a number of additional suggested comments on that working paper.
The expanded working paper further discussed additional communities affected by discrimination based on work and descent, in particular, diaspora communities.
Mr. Rodríguez Cuadros made a statement concerning his additional expanded working paper on measures provided in the various international human rights instruments for the promotion and consolidation of democracy see E/CN.4/Sub.2/2003/7.
These will be followed up in the future with additional reviews and a broader working paper.
