During the reporting period, the EXCOM bade farewell, in January 2012, to Mr. Ján Kubiš, then Executive Secretary of ECE, who left to take up his duties as Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan(UNAMA), andin April 2012 welcomed the incoming Executive Secretary of ECE, Mr. Sven Alkalaj.
