At its thirty-seventh session, the General Assembly, inter alia, requested the Secretary-General, based on the work already being done within the United Nations system and by relevant intergovernmental organizations, to prepare andregularly update a consolidated list of products whose consumption and/or sale had been banned, withdrawn, severely restricted or, in the case of pharmaceuticals, not approved by Governments resolution 37/137.

In its resolution 37/137 of 17 December 1982,the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to prepare a Consolidated List of Products Whose Consumption and/or Sale Have Been Banned, Withdrawn, Severely Restricted or Not Approved by Governments1 on the basis of the work already being undertaken within the United Nations system.
