The Secretary-General's fifth report on progress made in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD(A/62/203) is not encouraging.
In my report on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(A/62/203), I have provided an overview of the progress being made in implementing the NEPAD blueprint.
We read with great interest the fifth consolidated report of the Secretary-General on the progress in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD A/62/203.
The sixth report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of and international support for NEPAD(A/63/206) offers a mixed assessment, simultaneously optimistic and dubious of the impact and scope of progress achieved.
We wish to reaffirm the content of the fifth report of the Secretary-General on progress in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD.
Today, as we review the progress made in the implementation of, and international support for, the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD), our task is greatly facilitated by the Secretary-General's reports contained in documents A/58/254 and A/58/352.
The present report highlights areas of progress and identifies challenges and constraints in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership.
The fourth report of the Secretary-General on progress made in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD(A/61/212), shows the diversification of economicand export structures in Africa, which is essential for the promotion of growth and the acceleration of development in Africa.
Mr. Korga(Togo)(spoke in French):I would like to thank the Secretary-General for his fourth consolidated report on the progress made in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) A/61/212.
Regarding progress in implementation of and international support for NEPAD, Rwanda welcomes the adoption of the political declaration(resolution 63/1) at the conclusion of the high-level meeting on Africa's development needs on 22 September 2008, as well as the recommendations of the Millennium Development Goals Africa Steering Group.
Let me now comment briefly on the third consolidated report on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership, as contained in document A/60/178.
Nonetheless, my delegation is somewhat disappointed by the understated tone of some of the conclusions and recommendations in the report of the Secretary-General on progress in implementation of and international support for the NEPAD.
Mr. Shacham(Israel): Israel welcomes the second consolidated report on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development NEPAD.
In 2012 and 2013, the Task Force was actively engaged in contributing to and reviewing three key reports of the Secretary-General one on a comprehensive review of the causes of conflict, one on United Nations system support for NEPAD and one on progress made in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD.
I would also like to thank the Secretary-General for his third consolidated report on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD), contained in document A/60/178.
The present report is submitted in compliance with the request made by the General Assembly in its resolution 59/254 for the Secretary-General to submit a comprehensive report to the Assembly at its sixtieth session on the progress achieved in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development NEPAD.

I would like to commend the Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Annan, for the excellent report that he has presented, for the third consecutive year, on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) A/60/178.
SADC welcomes the Secretary General's third consolidated report on progress in implementation of and international support for NEPAD, in document A/60/178, as well as the report on the causes of conflict and promotion of durable peace and sustainable development in Africa, in document A/60/182.
Mr. Le Luong Minh(Viet Nam):On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, I would like to thank the Secretary-General for his fourth consolidated report on progress in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) A/61/212.
For several consecutive years now the Assembly has been jointly considering the progress in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) and the implementation of recommendations contained in the report of the Secretary-General on the causes of conflict and the promotion of durable peace and sustainable development in Africa.
The present report, which responds to Assembly resolution 60/223 of 23 December 2005,should be read together with the Secretary-General's fourth consolidated report on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(A/61/212), which monitors the implementation of recommendations related to economic and social development in Africa.
The report of the Secretary-General on progress in the implementation of and international support for NEPAD(A/66/202) underscores the commitment of Heads of State and Government and the United Nations to focus on the needs of Africa, as set forth in the Millennium Declaration(resolution 55/2) and reflected in the Monterrey Consensus and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation.
ASEAN wishes to thank the Secretary-General for his comprehensive and thorough report on progress in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD), as contained in document A/60/178.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the Secretary-General for his reports on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD)(A/63/206), and the causes of conflict and the promotion of durable peace and sustainable development in Africa(A/63/212), and for his note entitled"2001-2010: Decade to Roll Back Malaria in Developing Countries, Particularly in Africa" A/63/219.
Mr. Chaudhry(Pakistan): For the third year running, this Assembly is jointly considering the progress in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) and the recommendations of the Secretary-General.
The General Assembly made specific recommendations for action in its resolution 59/254 on progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) and encouraged African countries to track progress in the full integration of women into African social, political and economic life.
Mrs. Swaraj(India): We would like to thank the Secretary-General for the fifth consolidated report on progress in the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD)(A/62/203) and the other reports prepared for this joint debate.
We take this opportunity to thank the Secretary-General for his fifth consolidated report on the progress in implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD)(A/62/203), as well as for the report on the Decade to Roll Back Malaria in Developing Countries, Especially in Africa A/62/321.
In resolution 60/222, the General Assembly requested that the Secretary-General submit a comprehensive report on the progress on the implementation of and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) on the basis of inputs from Governments, elements of the United Nations system and other stakeholders in NEPAD.
