Right to be treated with humanity.
Every person deprived of his or her liberty has the right to be treated with humanity and with respect for human dignity.
In Jalisco, both police and prison staff receive training on the respect of individual guarantees and human rights, andthere are regulations requiring the prison population to be treated with humanity and dignity.

Referring to the Committee's general comment No. 21(1992) on humane treatment of persons deprived of their liberty and to its jurisprudence,the author notes that the enforced disappearance of her husband constitutes a violation of his right to be treated with humanity and with respect during his deprivation of liberty, as set out in article 10, paragraph 1, of the Covenant.
The mission also considered that a series of violations of Israel's obligations under international human rights law had taken place, including violations of the right to life; the use of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment; and violations to the right to liberty and security of person and freedom from arbitrary arrest or detention;the right of detainees to be treated with humanity and respect for the inherent dignity of the human person; and freedom of expression.
