Peace and reconciliation are the very foundations of the European Union," said Ambassador Davenport explaining why the European Commission decided to support the project from which the exhibition had originated.
European Union, being the biggest donor in Serbia over the course of flood recovery, will continue to finance not only reconstruction projects, but prevention as well, in order toprevent floods in the future," Ambassador Davenport said.

Ambassador Davenport also attended the opening of a regional power station in Vranje, which is a joint project of the European Union and the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, worth 19.5 million euros.
The most positive message comes from the very students,who see their future in this college regardless of their national affiliation," Ambassador Davenport said, adding that the European Union would carefully monitor the construction of this college building and the construction works.
Ambassador Davenport, Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic, Secretary General of the Basketball Association Andrija Kleut and President of the Volleyball Association Aleksandar Boricic will present medals to the three most successful competitors.

During the second day of his visit,on Friday 31 January, Ambassador Davenport will meet president of Preševo municipality Ragmi Mustafa and deliver him incubators, ultrasound devices and other medical devices for out-of-hospital Maternity Unit.

This first humanitarian aid package worth €150,000 is provided by EU's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection directorate(ECHO).
Adding that the European Union would remain with Obrenovac, ambassador Davenport said the second phase of the European support to the Republic of Serbia, worth 62 million euros, has been ongoing, with its focus on prevention and protection from floods. UNOPS.

Through European PROGRES, European Union and Swiss Government have funded the construction and equipping of the facility,with the participation of Serbian Government. Ambassador Davenport will, together with the President of Coordinating Authority for Presevo, Bujanovac i Medvedju Zoran Stankovic, visit collective centre for temporary reception and housing of migrants and Presevo.
Ambassador Davenport was interested to know about Agency's activities in current pre-election and election process, having in mind the role of the Agency in monitoring party financing and legal use of public resources. Agency Director Tatjana Babić introduced the Head of EU Delegation with competences, but also with the results of the last year's work, as well as with planned activities in the future.

Ambassador Davenport said that the signing of the MoU was"perhaps the most important step in building a true institution of higher education in Bujanovac."“The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding provides the conditions for a long-term development of higher education in this area, which is in full compliance with the relevant laws of Serbia and with the respect for the needs of the local self-government and the citizens," he said.
These projects were carried out with the funds of the European Union andGovernment of Switzerland through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme EU PROGRES. Ambassador Davenport will start his visit, on Thursday 30 January, with meeting with president of Bujanovac municipality Nagip Arifi, to whom he will hand over certificates for Quality Management System ISO 9001 and Environmental Management System ISO 14001.

Also, Ambassador Davenport handed technical documentation to Mayor Tomislav Ilic for the construction of waste water treatment plant and sewerage system in Kraljevo, a project funded by the EU with EUR1.25 million. At the end of his visit to Kraljevo, Davenport visited Veterinary Institute in Kraljevo whose modernisation has been supported through EU donation of equipment, and the newly built bridge on the Lopatnica River near the village of Bogutovac.
