With the arrest of Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic, Serbia has overcome one of the key obstacles to EU accession.
Both are on ice because of Belgrade's failure to extradite wanted war crimes indictees Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.
Authorities there must arrest Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic, Brammertz stressed.
The proceedings against 125 individuals have been completed,with only two indictees remaining at large- Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadžic.
By arresting fugitives Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic, they said, Serbia also satisfactorily completed co-operation with The Hague tribunal.

Political analyst Dejan Vuk Stankovic says Belgrade will have difficulty progressing towards the EU until Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic are extradited,and until positive steps forward are made in talks with Pristina.
Serbia was urged to keep working towards full co-operation with the UN war crimes tribunal and arrest the remaining fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.
It further reiterated that full co-operation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia(ICTY)- and specifically the capture and handover of Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic-- remains a key condition for Serbia's progress towards eventual EU membership.

Rasim Ljajic, Belgrade's top official in charge of co-operating with the ICTY,urged the public Tuesday to help find war crimes fugitives Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic and thus"do a good thing" for their country.
Rasim Ljajic, the head of Serbia's national council for co-operation with The Hague tribunal,assured Robinson that Serbia is committed to arresting the remaining two war crimes fugitives-- Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.

In an interview with the Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti, Verhagen said there hasn't been much progress in meetingcommitments to the tribunal, particularly arresting remaining fugitives Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.

President Boris Tadic, meanwhile, pledged that his country would wrap up its obligations to The Hague tribunal by capturing and extraditing the two remaining indictees, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.
Brammertz's report reminded all concerned that the tribunal's work is not finished, and has yet to find out who helped the last fugitives, Radovan Karadzic,Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic hide for over a decade.
The country had previously requested that the EU hold off on forwarding Belgrade's application until Serbia arrests and extradites the two remaining indictees, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.
However, the tribunal's chief prosecutor, Serge Brammertz,recently changed his view and said he was convinced“Serbia is doing all it can” to apprehend two remaining suspects, Mladic and Goran Hadzic, a former Croatian Serb leader.
The Netherlands is the main opponent to Serbia's EU integration,insisting the country should first arrest the two remaining war crime fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.
Ashton and Fuele stressed that beyond the declaration, Serbia has more serious commitments to the victims and the international community,including the arrest of the two remaining war crime fugitives-- Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic-- and full co-operation with the UN war crimes tribunal.
However, the Council of Ministers decided to keep pressure on Serbia, so the country will continue to work with The Hague, and hand over the two remaining fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.

Serbia signed its Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU in April 2008, but the Netherlands has been opposing its enforcement ever since, insisting that Serbia mustfirst arrest the remaining two war crimes fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic.(Danas, B92- 25/07/09).
