Although the Jorasanko branch of the family had close links with Shilaidaha, in Kushtia District, now in Bangladesh and Santiniketan,where Rabindranath developed Visva Bharati.

He translated Bal Gangadhar Tilak's Geetarahasya andTukaram's Abhang poems into Bengali.[1] Rabindranath Tagore had also translated some poems of Tukaram.[7] Satyendranath took an active interest in the activities of the Brahmo Samaj wherever he was posted, e.g. Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.[8].
When Rabindranath Tagore the famous poet visited Kerala, and was going to attend a public event at Aluva, via Chalakudy, Govinda Menon and his friends went to meet him. He was punished for this by the school authorities. As a student he also pasrticpated in the Vaikom Satyagraha.

Pratima studied art under painter Nandalal Bose and Rabindranath Tagore.[1] Rabindranath encouraged her to pursue her artistic talents.[4] She exhibited her work at the Indian Society of Oriental Art, run by the Tagore family, from 1915 onwards.[5] She then moved to Paris, where she studied the Italian"wet fresco" method.
Parveen first took lesson from Komal Chakrabarti. Later on, she received lessons in classical music from Ustaad Ibrahim Khan,Ustad Rabindranath Ray, Ustad Osman Goni and Ustad Motaleb Biswas. She then learnt Nazrul songs from Ustad Mir Muzaffar Ali and Ustad Abdul Qadir.
With postings at numerous towns, he travelled across the country. Owing to his long stay away from home, his family members visited him and stayed with him for long periods.Amongst his regular visitors were his younger brothers Jyotirindranath and Rabindranath, and his sister Swarnakumari Devi.
Pant enrolled in Queens College in Banaras in 1918.There he began reading the works of Sarojini Naidu and Rabindranath Tagore, as well as English Romantic poets. These figures would all have a powerful influence on his writing.[1] In 1919 he moved to Allahabad to study at Muir College.
Gaganendranath was the eldest son of Gunendranath Tagore, grandson of Girindranath Tagore and a great-grandson of Prince Dwarkanath Tagore. Both his children, Surendranath Tagore(1872- 1940) and Indira Devi Choudhurani(1873- 1960), were well-known figures. They had the experience of English life as children.Surendranath had great command over English and had translated Rabindranath's Four Chapters into that language.
When Rabindranath Tagore was to visit England in 1878, he stayed in their Bombay home and sought to improve his English with the assistance of Pandurang's second daughter Annapurna or Ana. It is believed that the two were attracted to each other and Tagore wrote several poems in her memory(he referred to her as"Nalini").
The efforts of the male members of the Tagore family in the field of music, theatre and writing must have penetrated into the inner precincts of the Jorasanko Thakur Bari and touched a chord in Swarnakumari. When JyotirindranathTagore was involved with his experiments in music, plays and writing, he was assisted by Akshay Chandra Chaudhuri and Rabindranath.

After his return from education abroad, Tagore spent about four decades at Santiniketan, serving Visva Bharati. At different times he was teacher, karma saciva, Santiniketan saciva and in-chage of Sriniketan.He made an enormous contribution to developing the Rabindranath Tagore memorial and archives.[6] In Visva Bharati, Tagore was initially a faculty-member and subsequently its chairman.
Rathindranath Thakur(anglicised as Rathindranath Tagore, 27 November 1888- 3 June 1961) was an Indian educationist and agronomist. He servedas the first vice-chancellor of Visva-Bharati University, which was founded by his father, Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore's tenure at the university was marred by allegations of financial impropriety and an extra-marital affair.
