Have they never heard the stories about their predecessors, the peoples of Noah,'Ad, Thamud, Abraham, Midian, and of the ruined cities? Their messengers brought them clear evidence of the truth. It was not God who wronged them; they wronged themselves.

To the Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said,"My people, worship God! You have no god but Him. It was He who brought you into being from the earth and settled you upon it and so ask His forgiveness. Turn to Him in repentance. My Lord is near and responsive.
사무드 백성에게 그들의 형제 살레를 보내니 그가 이르더라 백성들이여 하나님만을 섬기라 그분 외에는 너희를 위한 신이 없으며 그분이 흙으로부터 너희를 창 조하신 후 너희로 하여금 그곳에 서 정주케 하였으니 그분에게 용 서를 구하고 그분에게 회개하라 나의 주님은 가까이서 응답하시니라.

Have you(believers) ever heard the news about those who lived before you, like the people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, and those who lived after them? No one knows about them except God. Messengers were sent to them with miracles, but they put their hands to their mouths and said,"We do not believe in whatever you preach and we are also doubtful and uncertain about that to which you invite us.
너희 이전의 노아와 아드 그 리고 사무드 백성과 그들 이후에 온 백성들에 판한 얘기가 너희에 게 이르지 아니 했느뇨 하나님 외에는 그들에 관한 이야기를 알 지 못하리라 그들의 선지자들이 예증으로 그들에게 왔으나 그들의 손으로 그들의 입들을 막으며 실로우리는 너희에게 보내어진 것을 믿지 아니하며 우리를 초대하는 너희종교에 의심할 뿐이라 하니.

And to Thamud, We sent their brother Saleh, he said:"My people, serve God, you have no god besides Him; clarity has come to you from your Lord, this is God's camel, in her you have a sign, so leave her to eat in God's land, and do not harm her, else the painful retribution will take you.".
