Coupage or blending of.
The following processes shall not be regarded as coupage.
(a) for wines resulting from coupage, the origin and quantities of wines used;

(28) In order to restrict the coupage of white and red table wines to Spain, where it is necessary, it is vital to ensure that wine produced by this practice cannot be consumed outside that country.
(77) It is appropriate to determine certain oenological practices and restrictions for the production of wine,in particular as regards coupage and the use of certain types of grape must, grape juice and fresh grapes originating in third countries.

Pursuant to Article 42(6) of Regulation(EC)No 1493/1999, coupage of a wine suitable for yielding a white table wine or of a white table wine with a wine suitable for yielding a red table wine or with a red table wine shall be permitted in Spain until 31 July 2005, provided that the product obtained has the characteristics of a red table wine.
Subject to any different decision the Council may take in accordance withthe international obligations of the Community, coupage of a wine originating in a third country with a Community wine and coupage between wines originating in third countries shall be prohibited in the Community.
Where coupage takes place and subject to the following paragraphs, the only products which may be considered to be table wines shall be those resulting from coupage of table wines with each other or coupage of table wines with wines suitable for yielding table wines, provided that such wines suitable for yielding table wines have a total natural alcoholic strength by volume not exceeding 17% vol.
Unless otherwise decided in accordance with Article 43(2)TFEU pursuant to the international obligations of the Union, coupage of a wine originating in a third country with a Union wine and coupage between wines originating in third countries shall be prohibited in the Union.
If the table wine for which a refund is requested results from coupage, as defined by Title II of Chapter V of Regulation(EC) No 1622/2000, or from blending of table wines qualifying for different refund rates, the amount of the refund shall be calculated in proportion to the quantities of table wine in the coupage or blend.
The use of a geographical indication to designate table wines resulting from the coupage of wines from grapes harvested in different wine-growing areas shall be permitted if at least 85% of the table wine resulting from the coupage originates in the wine-growing area whose name it bears.
