Research and development of new methodologies for the improvement of  distance education at all academic levels and in all international spheres.
To overcome the limitations of  police-recorded data on environmental crime, the development of new methodologies for data collection could be explored.
Key achievements included the development of new methodologies, workshops on best practices and crisis management exercises, and expansion of  international partnerships.
The Commission continues to be active in these important policy areas,supporting the development of new methodologies where necessary and improving the collection of  data.
This provides increased predictability for existing as well as new methodologies  aslessons learned from these requests are used in the development of new methodologies.
With regard to the development of new methodologies, standards and indicators, the Institute publishes cultural statistics methodological documents, as well as analytical documents, in various formats, such as bulletins and information notes.
(iv) Strengthening cooperation with the regional commissions,including through enhanced joint programming and other collaborative schemes, and the development of new methodologies to that end;
They concern the promotion of  theuse of  space tools in the habitat sector and the development of new methodologies for surveying African steppe and desert areas, the implementation of  a geographical information system(GIS) specifically for use by local communities and so on.
However, gender mainstreaming was not yet systematized in all activities at the federal level and more work had to be done in terms of  awareness-raising,training and the development of new methodologies.
My Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of  Women, in cooperation with United Nations entities,will intensify the development of new methodologies, tools and competence for gender mainstreaming and updating of  existing ones.
In 2005, as part of  its work in the development of new methodologies, standards and indicators in cultural statistics, the Institute identified the need for a revision of  and update to the 1986 Framework for Cultural Statistics making it a priority in order to strengthen its programme and activities in the field of  cultural statistics.
The Committee recommended that CEB play a role in better coordinating the analysis of  the problems of  thecountries invoking Article 50 of  the Charter, and the development of new methodologies to identify the damage to affected States and new  mechanisms to determine the appropriate compensation for them.
Similarly, the Council was working, in the context of  the National Plan of  Action for Achieving Gender Equality, with higher educational institutions to encourage and support studies on gender issues, in particular a gender approach toeducation through the analysis of  existing educational materials and the development of new methodologies, curricula and materials.
Through its programme of  research and analysis,it has accomplished pioneering work in the development  of new methodologies for demographic analysis, and, particularly, in creating awareness of  the key role that population variables play in social and economic development.

In particular to be highlighted in this area of  work are the development  of new methodologies for under-represented sectors such as the transport sector, the agriculture sector and the household sector, the introduction of  positive lists for the demonstration and assessment of  additionality for small-scale projects and the development of  tables of  calculation as part of methodologies  to enhance their usability.
The operational plans for UNDP Brazil included development  services(which were expected to play a declining role in the future), advocacy, policy advice,new  products, development  of new methodologies for knowledge-based products and special projects that may become new  products.
UNCTAD also participates in inter-agency working groups dealing with the implementation of  international recommendations,as well as development of new methodologies in the area of  services statistics, including foreign affiliates ' trade in services, producing the Manual on Statistics of  International Trade in Services(ST/ESA/STAT/SER. M/86), a joint publication involving the United Nations, the European Commission, IMF, OECD and WTO.
In its conclusions and recommendations on the foregoing matter, the Committee for Programme and Coordination recommended that CEB play a role in better coordinating the analysis of  the problems of  thecountries invoking Article 50 of  the Charter, and the development of new methodologies to identify the damage to affected States and new  mechanisms to determine the appropriate compensation for them(A/58/16, para. 581).
The main activities of  the Institute in the field of  culturalstatistics are:(a) survey operations and data guardianship;(b) the development of new methodologies, standards and indicators in cultural statistics;(c) training and capacity-building in cultural statistics; and(d) the analysis and dissemination of  culture data.

In September 2008, the cultural statistics programme of  the Institute developed a new  strategy that focuses on three main lines of  action--(a) the collection, analysis anddissemination of  internationally comparable data on culture;(b) the development of new methodologies, standards and indicators in cultural statistics; and(c) training and capacity-building in cultural statistics-- in the framework of  collaborations and partnerships with national, regional and international governmental and civil society organizations.
Strategies proposed for the third phase include teacher training in cooperation with pedagogical universities; development of  resources centres and informationmaterial; governmental support to NGOs ' projects; development of new methodologies including distance learning; peer review among countries; establishment of  monitoring and evaluation systems; and the incorporation of  human rights education commitments into domestic law.

UNHCR places particular importance on the development of new evaluation methodologies.
Other aspects which were highlighted include the emphasis that national education systems place on conflict resolution,the prevention of  violence and the development of new educational methodologies and approaches.
The project envisions the development of new research methodologies on specific issues and the creation of  long-term research strategies.
Those synergies enhanced the development of new educational tools and methodologies. .
