(a) To take part in the proceedings, in accordance with the provisions of this Code;

Article 3, paragraph 1, provides that" the provisions of this Code shall be applicable to the proceedings of criminal cases, investigations, arrests, trials and punishments relating to the crimes provided for in any other law".
The provisions of this Code shall apply to any national or alien who commits outside the State of Bahrain any act that makes him a perpetrator of or accessory to an offence prejudicial to the external or internal security of the State, as specified in part II, chapter 1, sections 1 and 2, or the offence of forging State seals and emblems or counterfeiting currency and monetary instruments, as specified in articles 257, 262 and 263.
According to article 21 of the Code:" A penalty of up to 10 years ' imprisonment or sanctions commensurate with the results of the crimeshall be inflicted on any person subject to the provisions of this Code who, in time of war, commits an act that causes damage to persons or property entitled to protection under the terms of international agreements to which the Republic of Yemen is a party.
Any person who publicly or otherwise incites or provokes another to disregard the provisions of this Code prohibiting harmful traditional practices, or organizes a movement to promote such end, or takes part in such a movement, or subscribes to its schemes, is punishable with simple imprisonment for not less than three months, or fine not less than five hundred Birr, or both.
Under the Penal Code, women and men are equal in regard to the death penalty and custodialpenalties, as stipulated in the Koran. The provisions of this Code are applied, although a clear distinction is made between women and men in article 42 in connection with the blood money(diya) payable for women, which is half of that payable for men.
Disagreements shall be resolved by the Department of Labour, in accordance with the provisions of this Code, collective agreements and contracts, internal labour regulations, the nature of the work performed by the firm or, in the absence of these criteria, considerations of equity and common sense.
