Why All These Runlevels?
The runlevels in a System V init system are configured in/etc/inittab.
Linux knows different(so called) runlevels.
For more information about runlevels, refer to Section 1.4 SysV Init Runlevels.
Sysvinit BSD init doesn't support runlevels.
Httpd is on in runlevels 2, 3, 4, and 5 which is what you want to see.
Traditional Unix variants don't use these runlevels.
Users sometimes customize runlevels 2 and 4 to meet specific needs, since they are not used.
However you are not restricted to these runlevels.

This can be very simply realised with different runlevels.
The variables START_XXX are not independent of the runlevels any longer but have an influence to all runlevels.
