तुम्हारी औरतें तुम्हारे लिए खेतियाँ हैं, तो आओ अपनी खेतियों में जिस तरह से तुम चाहो।

तथा जब वह आपके पास से जाता है, तो धरती में उपद्रव मचाने का प्रयास करता है और खेती तथा पशुओं का विनाश करता है और अल्लाह उपद्रव से प्रेम नहीं करता।

And if We send a wind[which would spoil the green growth(tilth) brought up by the previous rain], and they see(their tilth) turn yellow, behold, they then after their being glad, would become unthankful(to their Lord Allah as) disbelievers.
किन्तु यदि हम एक दूसरी हवा भेज दें, जिसके प्रभाव से वे उस(खेती) को पीली पड़ी हुई देखें तो इसके पश्चात वे कुफ़्र करने लग जाएँ।

And when he turns back, he runs along in the land that he may cause mischief in it and destroy the tilth and the stock, and Allah does not love mischief-making.
और जब वह लौटता है, तो धरती में इसलिए दौड़-धूप करता है कि इसमें बिगाड़ पैदा करे और खेती और नस्ल को तबाह करे, जबकि अल्लाह बिगाड़ को पसन्द नहीं करता।

To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter.
जो शख़्श आखेरत की खेती का तालिब हो हम उसके लिए उसकी खेती में अफ़ज़ाइश करेंगे और दुनिया की खेती का ख़ास्तगार हो तो हम उसको उसी में से देंगे मगर आखेरत में फिर उसका कुछ हिस्सा न होगा।

But if We were to send a wind and then their tilth has become yellow, they would never cease to disbelieve.
किन्तु यदि हम एक दूसरी हवा भेज दें, जिसके प्रभाव से वे उस(खेती) को पीली पड़ी हुई देखें तो इसके पश्चात वे कुफ़्र करने लग जाएँ।

And if We send a wind, and they should see their tilth yellow, then they would thereafter remain disbelieving.
किन्तु यदि हम एक दूसरी हवा भेज दें, जिसके प्रभाव से वे उस(खेती) को पीली पड़ी हुई देखें तो इसके पश्चात वे कुफ़्र करने लग जाएँ।

Your women are tilth Unto you, so go in unto your tilth as ye list, and provide beforehand for your souls. And fear Allah, and know that ye are going to meet Him; and give thou glad tidings Unto the believers.
तुम्हारी स्त्रियों तुम्हारी खेती है। अतः जिस प्रकार चाहो तुम अपनी खेती में आओ और अपने लिए आगे भेजो; और अल्लाह से डरते रहो; भली-भाँति जान ले कि तुम्हें उससे मिलना है; और ईमान लानेवालों को शुभ-सूचना दे दो।

And if We(but) send a Wind from which they see(their tilth) turn yellow,- behold, they become, thereafter, Ungrateful(Unbelievers)!

तो तुम अपनी खेती में जिस तरह चाहो आओ और अपनी आइन्दा की भलाई के वास्ते(आमाल साके) पेशगी भेजो और ख़ुदा से डरते रहो और ये भी समझ रखो कि एक दिन तुमको उसके सामने जाना है और ऐ रसूल ईमानदारों को नजात की ख़ुश ख़बरी दे दो।

Your wives are your tilth: so you may go to your tilth as you please, but you should take care of your future and refrain from the displeasure of Allah. Know it well that One Day you shall meet Him.(O Prophet!) bear good tidings to the Believers.
तुम्हारी स्त्रियों तुम्हारी खेती है। अतः जिस प्रकार चाहो तुम अपनी खेती में आओ और अपने लिए आगे भेजो; और अल्लाह से डरते रहो; भली-भाँति जान ले कि तुम्हें उससे मिलना है; और ईमान लानेवालों को शुभ-सूचना दे दो।

और जहाँ तुम्हारी मोहब्बत से मुँह फेरा तो इधर उधर दौड़ धूप करने लगा ताकि मुल्क में फ़साद फैलाए और ज़राअत(खेती बाड़ी) और मवेशी का सत्यानास करे और ख़ुदा फसाद को अच्छा नहीं समझता।

They set aside for Allah a share of what He has created of tilth and cattle saying:'This is for Allah so they claim and this for our associates(gods)' The share of their associates never reaches Allah, but the share of Allah reaches their associates. How evil they judge!
उन्होंने अल्लाह के लिए स्वयं उसी की पैदा की हुई खेती और चौपायों में से एक भाग निश्चित किया है और अपने ख़याल से कहते है,"यह किस्सा अल्लाह का है और यह हमारे ठहराए हुए साझीदारों का है।" फिर जो उनके साझीदारों का(हिस्सा) है, वह अल्लाह को नहीं पहुँचता, परन्तु जो अल्लाह का है, वह उनके साझीदारों को पहुँच जाता है। कितना बुरा है, जो फ़ैसला वे करते है!

The likeness of that which they expend in this life of the world is as the likeness of a wind wherein is intense cold, it befalleth the tilth of a people who have wronged themselves, and destroyeth it. Allah wronged them not, but themselves they wrong.
इस सांसारिक जीवन के लिए जो कुछ भी वे ख़र्च करते है, उसकी मिसाल उस वायु जैसी है जिसमें पाला हो और वह उन लोगों की खेती पर चल जाए, जिन्होंने अपने ऊपर अत्याचार नहीं किया, अपितु वे तो स्वयं अपने ऊपर अत्याचार कर रहे है।

And they say: These are cattle and tilth prohibited, none shall eat them except such as We please-- so they assert-- and cattle whose backs are forbidden, and cattle on which they would not mention Allah's name-- forging a lie against Him; He shall requite them for what they forged.
और वे कहते है,"ये जानवर और खेती वर्जित और सुरक्षित है। इन्हें तो केवल वही खा सकता है, जिसे हम चाहें।"- ऐसा वे स्वयं अपने ख़याल से कहते है- और कुछ चौपाए ऐसे है, जिनकी पीठों को(सवारी के लिए) हराम ठहरा लिया है और कुछ जानवर ऐसे है जिनपर अल्लाह का नाम नहीं लेते। यह यह उन्होंने अल्लाह पर झूठ घड़ा है, और वह शीघ्र ही उन्हें उनके झूठ घड़ने का बदला देगा।

The love of desires, of women and sons and hoarded treasures of gold and silver and well bred horses and cattle and tilth, is made to seem fair to men; this is the provision of the life of this world; and Allah is He with Whom is the good goal of life.
मनुष्यों को चाहत की चीजों से प्रेम शोभायमान प्रतीत होता है कि वे स्त्रिमयाँ, बेटे, सोने-चाँदी के ढेर और निशान लगे(चुने हुए) घोड़े हैं और चौपाए और खेती। यह सब सांसारिक जीवन की सामग्री है और अल्लाह के पास ही अच्छा ठिकाना है।

And they say according to their fancy: such cattle and tilth are taboo none shall eat thereof save whom we allow, and there are cattle whose backs are forbidden, and cattle over which they pronounce not the name of Allah: a fabrication against Him Anon He shall requite them for that which they were wont to fabricate.
और वे कहते है,"ये जानवर और खेती वर्जित और सुरक्षित है। इन्हें तो केवल वही खा सकता है, जिसे हम चाहें।"- ऐसा वे स्वयं अपने ख़याल से कहते है- और कुछ चौपाए ऐसे है, जिनकी पीठों को(सवारी के लिए) हराम ठहरा लिया है और कुछ जानवर ऐसे है जिनपर अल्लाह का नाम नहीं लेते। यह यह उन्होंने अल्लाह पर झूठ घड़ा है, और वह शीघ्र ही उन्हें उनके झूठ घड़ने का बदला देगा।

Fair-seeming is made unto men the love of pleasurable things from women and children and talents heaped-up of gold and silver and horses branded up and cattle and tilth. All that is the enjoyment of the life of the World, and Allah! with Him is the best resort.
मनुष्यों को चाहत की चीजों से प्रेम शोभायमान प्रतीत होता है कि वे स्त्रिमयाँ, बेटे, सोने-चाँदी के ढेर और निशान लगे(चुने हुए) घोड़े हैं और चौपाए और खेती। यह सब सांसारिक जीवन की सामग्री है और अल्लाह के पास ही अच्छा ठिकाना है।

Musa said: He says, Surely she is a cow not made submissive that she should plough the land, nor does she irrigate the tilth; sound, without a blemish in her. They said: Now you have brought the truth; so they sacrificed her, though they had not the mind to do it.
मूसा ने कहा खुदा ज़रूर फरमाता है कि वह गाय न तो इतनी सधाई हो कि ज़मीन जोते न खेती सीचें भली चंगी एक रंग की कि उसमें कोई धब्बा तक न हो, वह बोले अब(जा के) ठीक-ठीक बयान किया, ग़रज़ उन लोगों ने वह गाय हलाल की हालाँकि उनसे उम्मीद न थी वह कि वह ऐसा करेंगे।
