या सर्व गोष्टी घडल्यावर अब्रामाला दृष्टांन्तात परमेश्वराचे वचन आले. देव म्हणाला, “अब्रामा, भिऊ नको; मी__ रक्षण करीन आणि तुला आनंद होईल असे मी तुला मोठे प्रतिफळ देईन.”.So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
तेव्हा अब्रामाने परमेश्वराची आज्ञा मानली. त्याने हारान सोडले लोट__ बरोबर गेला. या वेळी अब्राम पंच्याहत्तर वर्षांचा होता.We read later that Abram called himself by the new name that God gave him- Abraham(which meant“the father of a multitude”).
पुढे आपण वाचतो की अब्राहमाचे नाव देवाने अब्राहम असे ठेवले( हयाचा अर्थ बहुतांचा पिता).Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

या लढाईत पकडला न गेलेला एक मनुष्य अब्राम इब्रीकडे पळून गेला व त्याने त्याला हे वर्तमान सांगितले त्यावेळी अब्राम मम्रे अमोरी वृक्षांजवळ तळ देऊन राहिला होता; मम्रे, अष्कोल व आनेर ह्यांनी एकमेकांना व अब्रामाला मदत करण्याचा करार केला.Abram and Nahor took wives. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran who was also the father of Iscah.
अब्राम व नाहोर या दोघांनीही लग्न केले; अब्रामाच्या बायकोचे नाव साराय आणि नाहोरच्या बायाकोचे नाव मिल्का होते; मिल्का ही हारानाची मुलगी होती; हा हारान मील्का व इस्का यांचा बाप होता.But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee.
