The authority charged with the checking operations shall undertake.

The objective of the proposal is to merge 34 regulations on marketing standards for fresh fruit and vegetables into one regulation,reduce the list of products covered by marketing standards and rationalise checking operations.

(2) On 30 July 2001,the Israeli authorities sent the Commission a request for the approval of checking operations performed by the fresh produce quality control service under the responsibility of the Plant Protection and Inspection Service(PPIS) of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

(2) On 31 December 2001,the Indian authorities sent the Commission a request for the approval of checking operations performed by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection(DMI) under the responsibility of the Agricultural Marketing Adviser(AMA) of the Indian Ministry of Agriculture.
As part of the reform of the fruit and vegetable sector, the Commission, against some reluctance of a number of Member States, reduced the number of specific marketing standards from 36 to 10(apples, citrus fruit, kiwifruit, lettuces and endives, peaches and nectarines, pears, strawberries, sweet peppers, table grapes andtomatoes), rationalised the associated checking operations and established a general marketing standard covering most fruit and vegetables.
(2) On 2 August 2001 the Moroccan authorities sent the Commission a request for the approval of checking operations performed by the Etablissement Autonome de Contrôle et de Coordination des Exportations(EACCE) under the responsibility of the Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development, Water and Forests.

In the case where it is established andverified by the responsible authority charged with checking operations that the declaration as referred to in Article 3( 3)( a) is a false declaration made either deliberately or through serious negligence, the contracting party in question shall be excluded from the private storage aid regime until the end of the calendar year following that of this finding.
