The representative of ConsumerInternational said her organization, in cooperation with the Civil Unity and Trust Society(CUTS) of India, had recently organized a seminar on“Investments: Consumers, Development and the Environment”.
Moderated by the Geneva resource centre of the Consumer Unity and Trust Society, this session reviewed the impact of the crisis on trade, the social sector and growth in LDCs.
The session was led by the Consumer Unity and Trust Society(CUTS International) in collaboration with UNCTAD.
In January 1997, Consumers International, through its regional office for Asia and the Pacific,and the Consumer Unity and Trust Society of India organized an international conference at New Delhi on the theme"Consumers in the global age", in cooperation with the Department for Policy Coordination and Sustainable Development and with the support of the European Commission, the Governments of India, the Netherlands and Sweden, and the United Nations Development Programme UNDP.
