(یعنی) کافروں پر(اور) کوئی اس کو ٹال نہ سکے گا

Let not the devil repel you; he is to you a clear enemy.
اور(کہیں) نہ روکے تم کو شیطان۔ وہ تمہارا دشمن ہے صریح(کھلا)

بری بات کے جواب میں وہ کہو جو بہتر ہے ہم خوب جانتے ہیں جو یہ بیان کرتے ہیں

برائی کو اس طریقے سے دور کریں جو سراسر بھلائی واﻻ ہو، جو کچھ یہ بیان کرتے ہیں ہم بخوبی واقف ہیں

Those who disbelieve and repel from the path of God- He nullifies their works.
جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور لوگوں کو راسِ خدا سے روکا خدا نے ان کے اعمال کو برباد کردیا

Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe.
اور آپ برائی کو اچھائی کے ذریعہ رفع کیجئے کہ ہم ان کی باتوں کو خوب جانتے ہیں

Those who disbelieve and repel from God's path have gone far astray.
بے شک جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا اور(دوسروں کو) اللہ کی راہ سے روکا گمراہی میں بہت دور نکل گئے

اور بری بات کے جواب میں ایسی بات کہو جو نہایت اچھی ہو۔ اور یہ جو کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے

وہ لوگ جو منکر ہوئے اورانہوں نے لوگوں کو بھی الله کے راستہ سے روکا تو الله نے ان کے اعمال برباد کر دیئے

اور آپ برائی کو اچھائی کے ذریعہ رفع کیجئے کہ ہم ان کی باتوں کو خوب جانتے ہیں

Those who prefer the present life to the Hereafter, and repel from the path of God, and seek to make it crooked- these are far astray.
جنہیں آخرت سے دنیا کی زندگی پیاری ہے اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے اور اس میں کجی چاہتے ہیں، وہ دور کی گمراہی میں ہیں

آپ برائی کو ایسے طریقہ سے دفع کیا کریں جو سب سے بہتر ہو، ہم ان(باتوں) کو خوب جانتے ہیں جو یہ بیان کرتے ہیں

O you who believe, many religious leaders and preachers take people's money illicitly, and repel from the path of God.
ایمان والو نصارٰی کے بہت سے علمائ اور راہب, لوگوں کے اموال کو ناجائز طریقہ سے کھاجاتے ہیں اور لوگوں کو راسِ خدا سے روکتے ہیں

(O Muhammad)! Repel evil in the best manner. We are well aware of all that they say about you.
اور آپ برائی کو اچھائی کے ذریعہ رفع کیجئے کہ ہم ان کی باتوں کو خوب جانتے ہیں

Do they not see how We come to the land and reduce its extremities? Allah judges; none repel His judgement. Swift is His reckoning.
کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم زمین کو اس کے کناروں سے گھٹاتے چلے آتے ہیں اور الله حکم کرتاہے کوئی اس کے حکم کو ہٹا نہیں سکتا اور وہ جلد حساب لینے والا ہے

اور بری بات کے جواب میں ایسی بات کہو جو نہایت اچھی ہو۔ اور یہ جو کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے

جو آخرت کی نسبت دنیا کو پسند کرتے اور(لوگوں کو) خدا کے رستے سے روکتے اور اس میں کجی چاہتے ہیں۔ یہ لوگ پرلے سرے کی گمراہی میں ہیں

اور بری بات کے جواب میں ایسی بات کہو جو نہایت اچھی ہو۔ اور یہ جو کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے

Such people as these will receive a double reward, because they are steadfast and repel evil with good, and give alms out of what We have given them.
ان کو ان کا اجر دوبالا دیا جائے گا بدلہ ان کے صبر کا اور وہ بھلائی سے برائی کو ٹالتے ہیں اور ہمارے دیے سے کچھ ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں

Repel ill[conduct] with that which is the best. We know best whatever they allege.
اور بری بات کے جواب میں ایسی بات کہو جو نہایت اچھی ہو۔ اور یہ جو کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے

These will be given their reward twice over, because they are patient, and repel evil with good, and spend(in charity) out of what We have provided them.
ان کو ان کا اجر دوبالا دیا جائے گا بدلہ ان کے صبر کا اور وہ بھلائی سے برائی کو ٹالتے ہیں اور ہمارے دیے سے کچھ ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں

اور بری بات کے جواب میں ایسی بات کہو جو نہایت اچھی ہو۔ اور یہ جو کچھ بیان کرتے ہیں ہمیں خوب معلوم ہے

Good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with what is good. Then you will find your erstwhile enemy like a close. affectionate friend.
نیکی اور برائی برابر نہیں ہوسکتی لہٰذا تم برائی کا جواب بہترین طریقہ سے دو کہ اس طرح جس کے اور تمہارے درمیان عداوت ہے وہ بھی ایسا ہوجائے گا جیسے گہرا دوست ہوتا ہے

Good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with good, and the person who was your enemy becomes like an intimate friend.
نیکی اور برائی برابر نہیں ہوسکتی لہٰذا تم برائی کا جواب بہترین طریقہ سے دو کہ اس طرح جس کے اور تمہارے درمیان عداوت ہے وہ بھی ایسا ہوجائے گا جیسے گہرا دوست ہوتا ہے
