Wikisource- originally called Project Sourceberg as a play on words for Project Gutenberg- began in November 2003, as a collection of supporting texts for articles in Wikipedia.
The source of these works should be noted in order toallow others to verify the copy displayed at Wikisource is a faithful reproduction.
Wikisource has a general template for pages that meet this criteria, however a more specific template should be used in order to inform the reader if the official text is also public domain in the country of origin.
With a single click on the sidebar("in other languages"), the reader of the translation can see the original source-text,or any other translation that exists at Wikisource.
