Introducing the Secretary-General's report on the contribution made by the Department of Management to theimprovement of management practices, and time-bound plan for the reduction of duplication, complexity and bureaucracy in the United Nations administrative processesand procedures(A/60/342), she said that the first part of the report focused on 23 improvements in management practices implemented by the Department, which had led to a more efficient and/or productive approach to financial and administrative processes during the period January 2003-June 2005.
The Committee notes that the Secretary-General will also be submitting a report on a time-bound plan for reduction of duplication, complexity and bureaucracy in United Nations administrative processes and procedures see A/59/16, para. 348.
