In its resolution 61/111, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the establishment of ICG.

In paragraph 5 of the same section of the resolution, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the measures taken by the Secretariat to fill current vacancies in the language services at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, reiterated its request that the Secretary-General consider further measures aimed at decreasing the vacancy rates in Nairobi, and requested that the Secretary-General report thereon to the Assembly at its sixty-sixth session.
In its resolution 61/111, the General Assembly noted with appreciation that ICG had been established on a voluntary basis as an informal body to promote cooperation, as appropriate, on matters of mutual interest related to civil satellite-based positioning, navigation, timing and value-added services, as well as the compatibility and interoperability of GNSS, while increasing their use to support sustainable development, particularly in developing countries.
At its fifty-seventh session, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the further improvement of cooperation and coordination between the United Nations and its agencies and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe; and requested the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at its fifty-ninth session a report on cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in implementation of the resolution resolution 57/298.
At its fifty-ninth session, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the work of the Consultative Organization aimed at strengthening the efforts of the United Nations in respect of issues such as combating corruption, international terrorism and trafficking, as well as human rights issues; and requested the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at its sixty-first session a report on cooperation between the United Nations and the Consultative Organization resolution 59/3.
In its resolution 61/111 of 14 December 2006, the General Assembly noted with appreciation that the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems had been established to promote cooperation on matters of mutual interest related to civil satellite-based positioning, navigation, timing and value-added services, as well as the compatibility and interoperability of GNSS, while increasing their use to support sustainable development, in particular in developing countries.
In paragraph 13 of the same section of the resolution, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the measures taken by the Secretary-General, in accordance with its resolutions, to address, inter alia, the issue of the replacement of retiring staff in the language services, and requested him to maintain and intensify those efforts, including the strengthening of cooperation with institutions that train language specialists in order to meet the needs in the six official languages of the United Nations.
At its fifty-seventh session, the General Assembly noted with appreciation the initiative and efforts the Consultative Organization had undertaken to promote the objectives and principles set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, including wider acceptance of treaties deposited with the Secretary-General; and requested the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at its fifty-ninth session a report on cooperation between the United Nations and the Consultative Organization resolution 57/36.
