Mr. Tiendrébéogo(Burkina Faso)thanked the Secretary-General for his report on implementation of the International Plan of Action for the United Nations Literacy Decade(A/65/172) and welcomed all initiatives by the United Nations and its specialized agencies to provide all children, young people and adults with the knowledge and capacities needed to improve their livelihoods and participate fully in the development of their societies.
