III. Discussion of the tasks and responsibilities of the InterAgency Support Group.
The annual meeting of the Interagency support group on indigenous issues, hosted by UNESCO during the third quarter of 2008;

OHCHR continues to co-chair the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention, together with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
There is a need for increased follow-up to recommendations made by the Permanent Forum to United Nations inter-agency mechanisms, such as the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Peoples' Issues.
The Office will maintain its active participation in the Interagency Support Group on Indigenous Issues, which it helped to establish in 2000.

III. Reporting session of the 2011 annual meeting of the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Peoples' Issues.
Recognizes that the Action Plan adopted by the UN System Interagency Support Group(IASG) created for the application of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities constitutes the basis for the concerted and coordinated work of the United Nations system on disability issues;
UNHabitat has developed, in particular, a policy guide to housing for indigenous peoples,which was launched at the 2009 meeting of the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Issues, held from 28 to 30 September in Nairobi.
UNDP is an active member of the Interagency Support Group to the Forum aimed at supporting the Forum and taking forward its recommendations.
The Office has also taken the lead, jointly with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in coordinating a joint action plan to promote andprotect the rights of persons with disabilities at the level of the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The Committee welcomed the meeting with the Interagency Support Group to the Convention and requested OHCHR, as co-chair of IASG, to prepare a note on the main conclusions of that meeting and the way forward.
A detailed draft programme of action for the Second Decade, covering a comprehensive set of activities in the six areas mentioned above, was developed by the Secretariat on the basis of inputs from the Permanent Forum and the InterAgency Support Group and adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 60/142.
Lastly, UNHabitat and UNEP have proposed to host a 2009 interagency support group meeting during the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues meeting that will be held sometime during the year, in Nairobi.
ILO had produced an English working paper series entitled"Indigenous andTribal Children: Assessing Child Labour and Education Challenges" and looked forward to continued cooperation with the 17 other United Nations agencies in the Interagency Support Group.
In addition to that agreement, IOM-Chile is a past andcurrent participant in the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Issues and the Inter-Agency Working Group on Human Rights Issues, both related to United Nations agencies operating in Chile.
Encourages the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention to continue its work to mainstream the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities throughout the United Nations system, and calls upon the Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to continue strengthening their cooperation in this regard;

Urges the United Nations system to make a concerted effort to integrate disability issues into its work, andin this regard encourages the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to continue working to ensure that development programmes, including Millennium Development Goals policies, processes and mechanisms, are inclusive of and accessible to persons with disabilities;
Encourages the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to continue its work to mainstream the Convention throughout the United Nations system through its Strategy and Plan of Action, approved in 2010, and calls upon the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the Secretariat and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to continue strengthening their cooperation in this regard;
In response to recommendation 17 of the Permanent Forum in the report on its fifth session(see E/2006/43, para. 17),IOM and its counterparts on the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Issues decided at its annual meeting to establish a migration contact group within the support group to identify relevant ongoing work within individual agencies and to strategize on how to raise the specific issues of indigenous peoples within the migration debate.
From 30 September to 1 October 2004, UNDP hosted a meeting of the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous Issues(IASG) to discuss the integration of indigenous issues in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals and the strengthening of the work of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues with the United Nations system.
The Permanent Forum calls upon Member States, the bodies and organizations of the United Nations system,the United Nations funds and programmes, the InterAgency Support Group and, in particular, the United Nations country teams, indigenous peoples' organizations and non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, to report on the implementation of the Forum's recommendations, especially by responding to the questionnaire prepared by the Forum secretariat.
Since the last report of the Secretary-General(A/66/121), the InterAgency Support Group on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has developed a roll-out strategy for the United Nations Development Group guidance note on including the rights of persons with disabilities in United Nations programming at the country level.
It coordinated the elaboration of a joint reflection paper by the InterAgency Support Group on Indigenous People's Issues, on the theme of indigenous people and the role of their culture and identity in development, in the light of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, as a contribution to the ninth session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
Funding from the biennial support budget compensates IAPSO for its interagency support work performed as the secretariat of the Inter-Agency Working Group on Procurement.
