This exemplary trial shows that,although discrimination is not explicitly characterized as an offence in Chilean criminal law, it is punishable under the international treaties in force in the country which are the basis for the above-mentioned decision, and that no one may be discriminated against because of his race, colour, ethnic group, origin or any other such reason, as stated in the Convention.
