The Economic and Social Council has decided to contribute to the overall preparation for the 2005 high-level plenary meeting of the Assembly, with input from the functional commissions,the regional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies.
Requests, in this regard, the functional commissions,the regional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies to contribute to the preparation of the input of the Economic and Social Council to the high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly;
Review of the efficiency of various modes of transport of relevance for combined transport in the sessions of the Working Party and cooperation with other relevant subsidiary bodies of the Inland Transport Committee.

Takes note with appreciation of the contributions of the functional commissions,the regional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies to the preparation of the input of the Economic and Social Council to the High-level Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly;
Requests the functional commissions,the regional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies of the Council to continue contributing, as appropriate, and in accordance with their respective mandates, to the work of the Council in line with relevant General Assembly resolutions, particularly resolutions 57/270 B and 61/16;
At the same time, the Committee has taken note of the"reporting fatigue" indicated on several occasions by a number of Member States andwill discuss, in cooperation with other relevant subsidiary bodies of the Security Council, how this issue can be addressed, including by seeking ways to provide advice to States on content of reports.
Requests the functional commissions,the regional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies of the Council, in accordance with their mandates, as appropriate, to contribute to the annual ministerial review and to the Development Cooperation Forum, in the context of their respective annual workplans, taking into account their specificities;
Recommends that ever-closer links be established, particularly through the bureaux of the organizations concerned,between the work of the Commission and other relevant subsidiary bodies of the Economic and Social Council so as to ensure that the Commission can contribute to and/or draw on the relevant output of other bodies in a timely manner and to avoid duplication of work.
The Council may wish to request its functional commissions and other relevant subsidiary bodies to contribute to the high-level segment and other segments of its substantive session of 2004 dealing with the themes related to the high-level plenary of the General Assembly in 2005.
