The COP also provided the CGE with additional mandates:(i) to identify and assess technical problems andconstraints that have affected the preparation of initial national communications by those non-Annex I Parties that have yet to complete them and to make recommendations for consideration by the subsidiary bodies and(ii) to provide input to the draft improved guidelines for the preparation of national communications of non-Annex I Parties.
Additionally, the CGE identified technical problems andconstraints that have affected the preparation of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties that have yet to complete them, in accordance with decision 31/CP.7.
As part of the compilation and synthesis,the secretariat was also requested to report on problems encountered in using the guidelines for the preparation of initial national communications by non-Annex I Parties, and on other issues raised by non-Annex I Parties, with a view, among other things, to enhancing further the comparability and focus of the communications. .
